Hello. It is good to know that your sister has recovered well from covid. Steroids are not to be stopped abruptly, it always has to be tapered by decreasing the doses first before stopping it completely. It is unlikely that just with 10 days of low dose steroid she will develop mucormycosis. But an ophthalmologist definitely needs to take a look at the eye first before saying that for sure. A good quality picture will be helpful in ruling out the same.

Hello.
The symptoms your kid is having may be due to excessive strain on eye muscles when he tries to focus (in this case watching tv or mobile). You should get his numbers checked once and make him/her wearing glasses if it is there. Not wearing glasses despite having high power can cause serious issues in the long run after few years, because it eventually makes the eyes weak. Also,
1. Limit his/her screen time to maximum 1 hour/day (recommended international guidelines for children be...more

I am sorry to hear about your concern but will be happy to assist you.
An injury to the eye, such as a scratched cornea, can cause the eye to swell and itch. It may feel as if there is something in the eye. If the injury becomes infected, there may be thick discharge. A blocked tear duct: this can cause sticky, thick eye mucus, and may be painful.
Let's connect over a call so that we can discuss your concern in details and make a suitable treatment plan for you.

Hello! as per your complains following are the possibilities which an eye doctor would like to rule out first- insect bite conjunctivitis (bacterial or viral) stye

Without proper examination by an eye doctor, treatment cannot be decided based on just symptoms. The treatment for all these conditions is totally different.
Also is there any redness? Since how many days you are having these problems? Any similar episodes in the past? Any treatment y...more

Hi, my left eye was a little sore at the corner for 3-4 days. Then day before yesterday, my lower eyelid started swelling. At first it was only a little painful but with time the swelling and pain kept on increasing. Right now, I have extreme pain in my left lower eyelid and the pain radiates to almost the entire left side of the eye. The swelling has also increased and the eyelid is red. There is a very small white color spot on the inside of the eyelid (not visible on the outside) but this has become smaller since the swelling has started increasing. There is also a burning sensation in the corner of my eye. I am taking enzoflam painkiller but it takes around 2 hours to reduce the pain and the effect lasts only 2-3 hours and then the pain comes back. I am also using moxicip eye drops and refresh tears but I don't think it is helping much. It has been 2 days of severe pain. Please advise.

Hello. Your symptoms seem to be suggestive of infection. What exactly is the swelling can not be commented upon right now without having a look at it. It may be a stye or an infected cyst going into a stage of pre-septal cellulitis. You need to start oral antibiotic tablets right away along with continuation of the present medications you are on. Hot water fomentation is equally stressed upon and will work like wonders if done religiously. Also consulting an ophthalmologist right now is advisabl...more

Hello. Before prescribing any treatment for your daughter, it is of utmost importance that infection is ruled out first. Basically redness and irritation can be infective or inflammatory (allergic, dryness etc). With the limited information you have provided over here, it is difficult for an eye doctor to put up a probable diagnosis. A good quality picture of both eyes will be helpful in guiding treatment plan for her. You can reach me out anytime for consultation to discuss your case in a more ...more
