Hi lybrate-user D and C is not done for ectopic. Ectopic means pregnancy outside the uterus, most commonly in the tubes. Depending on the size, presence of heart beat and Beta HCG values, decision to treat it medically or by laparoscopic surgery will be made. Please contact your gynaecologist as soon as possible.

For ectopic pregnancy you have to undergo laproscopic salpingectomy or open surgery (laparotomy). Or if duration of pregnancy is less you can be given inj methotrexate (Medical management. D&C is not done for ectopic pregnancy.
You should immediately consult a gynaecologist after seeing your ultrasound report and your general condition she will decide wether you need laparotomy OD laparoscopy or medical management. Don't delay treatment as that cause problems.

Yes. you need to take folic acid and make sure u confirm pregnancy is intrauterine as ectopic can come again in the other tube if not normal

Hi Asiya, you need to first know cause of the ectopic pregnancy and treat it before planning for baby.
As once their is ectopic it increases risk of recurrence to 10% in subsequent pregnancies.
We will evaluate the causes and chances to reduce recurrence and plan for treatment further.

Ask your operating doctor for condition of other tube. He must have maintained in operating notes.
You have good chances of having baby if other tube is normal.
Get test for tuberculosis . Most common cause in India.
