Hello Lybrate user, avoid direct contact of water to affected ear. Take proper homeopathic treatment for complete cure. Avoid self medication as it may give severe aggravation of complaint. In chronic cases, medicine is selected on the basis of thorough details of patient like medical history, cause, routine, temperament etc.; such well selected remedy gives complete cure without side effect. You may message or call back for further guidance and online homeopathic consultation and treatment.

Hello
ear drum rupture which is secondary to trauma or which is secondary to cough and cold has a greater probability of curing by medicine.
While ear drum perforation due to long term ear discharge has less probability of closing by medication in such cases you have to take medication to make ear infection free and then ho for surgery
