You need to take a tetanus vaccination definitely. If the same needle has pricked the tailor and then you got pricked then you should consider whether any of the blood transmissible infections have spread to you. Just clean the wound immediately with soap water or spirit.

If you had not taken tetanus vaccine in last 5 years you must go for vaccination. I suggest you to go for Tdap vaccine rather then only tetanus it will help you in your pregnancy too whenever it happens.

Hello, It is absolutely important to keep blood glucose in strict control with fasting close to 100 mg, PP 170 to 180 mg and HbA1c% <7. Otherwise wounds on the foot will not heal rapidly. Which can lead to further problem. It is essential he is put on Insulin injection and a constant monitoring of glucose is done at home. Now if infection is there it necessary to visit a podiatrist (diabetes foot specialist). It is a seroius matter. Thanks.
