Dear lybrate-user,
you need to be vigilant for platelet count of your son. Get it tested daily for proper vigilance on daily basis. Ideally it should be revamped now but in case of further lowering, I will recommend to get your son admitted in local hospital for all supportive measures and for platelet transfusion if needed.

Initial treatment will be with medications like corticosteroids to reduce the symptoms. But many patients relapse after the dosage is reduced. Next line of treatment is a splenectomy which has a high sucess rate. And even if that fails, lifelong medication can be given to control the itp.

Hello.
You need not worry.
You have normal levels of platelet count and also a good count of hb.
Maintain the hb between 12-14.
Normal platelet count is: 1.5 to 4.5l
normal hb for female is: 11 to 14gm%

Hi Lybrate user. No, this is not matter of concerned. You can go for manual platelet count for your satisfaction but not required. Thank you.

You have not mentioned the total duration of all this. No details of actual widal report, cbc. Platelet counts. If there is no fever after a full course of antibiotics it is taken as road to recovery. There is no mention of medication for weakness like multi vitamins, nutritional supplements. Instead of worrying about typhoid cure, you should consult physician - internal medicine who can review the diagnosis, conduct some more tests, not related to typhoid, to find out exact cause of present com...more
