Dear Lybrate user colour of your stools could be dark or blackish if you r taking any medication like iron supplements or diet like beat roots â¦if associated with pain in stomach they should see a physician bad smell could be problem with digestion or intestinal infection.

Black stools can be because of 1.Iron supplements
2.Dark-colored foods --sometimes dark-colored foods turn your poop black. These include: chocolate sandwich cookies, blueberries, grape juice, beets, spinach etc. The dark color should go away once you stop eating the food that caused it.
