Your water intake is more than enough .In normal conditions 3-4 litres of water is recommended but if you work out a lot or sweat a lot (in hot & humid environment) it can go up. Do not exceed it as it might fill you up and replace some nutritiuos meal which otherwise you would have.

Yes drinking excess water leads to toxicity and finally obesity. More potassium in body maintains the electrolytic balance of sodium potassium in body, as a result excess sodium flushes out which in excess leads to water retention, so it removes water retention and leads to weight gain.
But this only reason should not be the reason to increase potassium in diet. There are many more reasons which leads to weight gain.
