At 9 months, 8kg weight is about OK. Multivits dont help in weight gain as such. Give your baby some khichdi, suji kheer, and other home food with a little extra butter/ghee. Continue breast feeding . You could give bananas, and fruit juice too. Increasing complimentary feeding like this will help in weight gain.

Baby should be exclusively breast feed for 6 month and it should be continued till 2 years along with complimentary feeding. Complimentary feeding should be started after 6 month of age. Home made food is preferred. You can give cerelac also once or twice. Mother should take milk and milk product, pulses, soyabin peanuts green vegetable and fruits. 2.5 to 3 liter water per day. Calcium and vit D supplement.

You can eat dried fruit in anytime of the day as a snack but the best time is to eat it early in the morning to squeeze out the maximum benefits. Soak them in water overnight and use them in the morning. But be mindful to eat it in moderation because they contain more calories than the fresh ones. You can use in the morning to make a fruit smoothie or a milkshake also You can mix in your cereals for your breakfast.
