Stye is an acute infection of the eye lid glands whereas chalazion is a chronic infection of the same. Stye most of the times disappear with medical treatment. Rarely it may become a chalazion. Chalazia usually do not resolve completely by self. They require a minor procedure called incision and curettage.

A hordeolum (ie, stye) is a localized infection or inflammation of the eyelid margin involving hair follicles of the eyelashes (ie, external hordeolum) or meibomian glands (ie, internal hordeolum).
A hordeolum usually is painful, erythematous, and localized. It may produce edema of the entire lid. Purulent material exudes from the eyelash line in external hordeola, while internal hordeola suppurate on the conjunctival surface of eyelid.

Dear patient,
firstly, masturbation is not a contraindication with antibiotics therapy.
Secondly, antibiotics therapy is not required so long (4 weeks of antibiotics is not at all advisable).
Thirdly, use (wear) tight underwear all the time so as to have no pain in testis in future.
