They can be treated mostly conservatively but in some cases they need more aggressive treatment with preoperative intra arterial embolization and surgical resection. Lesions of tongue that are localized superficially can also be treated with direct puncture and injection of sclerosing agent (absolute ethanol).

Hello, If its a proven hemangioma (either by examination or by any investigation) then the solution is to get it excised. This can be surgical excision or post occlusion by interventional radiology, what we say.Also the criteria for excision is if at all it is of large size and hampering the day today activities. Any kind of conservative procedures will not be of much useful.
