In the world of palmistry and astrology, people who are born with six fingers in hand or foot are considered very lucky. Such people are said to have a very sharp mind, are hard working and very profitable in whatever they do. It is also said that these people are honest and very dedicated and due to this reason success certainly knocks on their door. However, in biological terms, it is often genetic and sometimes nonfamilial.

It is quite normal to have six fingers or toes and the condition is known as polydactyly. 1 out of every 500 to 100 children born have polydactyly. The new born babies have at least six fingers on one or both the hands and six toes on or both the feet. The condition is normal and it generally does not have any severe complications.
