In cases of a simple stretch injury or mild tear, Erb’s palsy will heal on its own, but the child should receive physical therapy so that the arm does not stiffen. Gentle massage and range of motion therapy are used to keep the muscles strong and the joint from becoming contracted. More extensive nerve damage may require surgery. If the nerves cannot function properly, tendon transplants are sometimes used.

Mr. lybrate-user your Dad mostly going post traumatic stress after the recovery from clavicle injury (earlier also he used to smoke or recently it became more. These are to be clearly taken into consideration) This apart possibility of Nerve injury also need to be considered (cause Brachial plexus runs below the clavicle so need to be ruled out) but with the history you mentioned it's more related to Post traumatic stress (Haemorroids operation and clavicle injury)

Herniated disks or bone spurts in the vertebrae of the neck may become the reason behind severe neck pan. They sometimes take too much space and compress the nerves branching out from the spinal cord.

Always make use of the cold therapy within the first 24-48 hours of the acute stage of an injury, to prevent tissue damage, or after the first 48 hours if inflammation persists.

Sports is a form of activity which will give you a lot of wear and tear in the body so you should be fit to do your sport. Nobody can achieve fitness by doing a certain sport as it might lead to an injury so make sure you are backing up your sports with a proper warm up and cool down exercises. It should be done along with the strength training at least twice a week. Stretching daily will reduce the risk of injury while doing any sport.
