Swollen submandibular lymph node dimensions 3.4x2.7x1. 2 cm on ultra sound. No other symptoms. Ent prescribed antibiotics and said to visit dentist because of periapical abscess. It’s been 2.5 weeks since extraction and 1.5 weeks since abscess drainage. Dentist said it will take 4 weeks for node to return to normal but I can’t see any significant difference. What should I do? How long will it take to recover? Should I go for fnac!

Also start taking kanchnaar guggulu 2 tb twice a day after meals regularly for 3 months.

Hello, my mother has had a swollen lymph node for almost a month. It has significantly reduced in size but has not gone away. She has recently noticed another very small node next to it. She had a cold last week which is gone now. Her ultrasound said the lump was hypoechoic and elliptical and the doctor said it’s nothing to worry about. But it still hasn’t gone down. She has been very sleepy and has been feeling dizzy. She has had one episode of excessive sweating during the day. She refuses the go to the doctor again and i’m very stressed out. I just want to know if it’s likely to be cancer. The ultrasound report said it was just a reactive lymph node but i’m not convinced. Thank you for your time.

A reactive lymph node is not cancer and if you still have doubts, a biopsy is needed to finalise and allay your fears.

I am 56, female my complaints are:- 1. A lump (with throbbing pain) on the site of an extracted tooth. Painful gum swelling all over the site + enlarged and painful lymph nodes (of the respected site). 2. Painful tongue (burning sensation that shifts from the tip, middle and rt side of the tongue) as if it burnt. There is also a swelling under the tongue (lt side). Restricted tongue movement, that's I could not reach my upper pallet as usual or extends it out, I feel that it is drawn back or upwards. 3. Black color gum.

It is good that you have mentioned your problem in detail here, still it is not very much favorable to conclude a concrete diagnosis. Why because there are many things/ lesions/ problems with similar features mentioned by you. So best is to visit a dentist nearby. Proper history, examinations can reveal your problem and save much time. Meanwhile take otc painkillers which suits you.

I am 19 years old ,whenever I have bath I use a soap and I keep noticing rashes and scars .and then when I use a body moisturizer I notice burning as well as the skin becoming red and scarring (like the skin getting teared) do I have any allergy to soaps or products.

You have an allergy to soaps and products. You can try different glycerine soaps like pears etc. And see.

Dear doctor, I am a patient, and I am 26 years old. Dear doc five days ago I had visited a doctor for cervical lymphadenopathy disease right side of my neck physically it's a small lump under the skin. The doctor prescribed me six paracetamol a day for five days. Last five day I was in tension what to do 3000 doses a day! yesterday I took two and today morning two. It's hot day now I'm feeling tired and bored. Should I continue this prescription which I got? Thank you, doctor.

You can apply aloe vera juice/gel from its leaf (fresh), not from ready made gels available in market. Remove skin of an aloe vera leaf. Take /scoop out gel. Apply this gel to your skin. Wash with plain water after an hour. Or keep it overnight.
Use some sunblock with spf (at least 50) every time you go out in sun. Apply it 30 mins before going out.
