7th cranial n palsy can be related to some secondary causes. Please get checked for any rash or vesicles inside your ear. If not then go for MRI brain.

My left neck nerves is stretching since bell's palsy from last 3 years. My friends noticed from months that my face is slightly one side bigger then other. Jaw line is visible in left side and right side jaw is normal. What is the problem.? While brushing teeth in morning there is slight pain in my left jaw for 10-20 seconds. Since I had recovered from bell’s palsy last year. It’s kind like i’m having more symptoms for allergy in my left eye (tearing) and my left nose (running). And by the way its the left side of my face which bell’s palsy affected me but I fully recovered. And also I tear and have running nose when I eat heavy and spicy food. What could it be? Please help. Asked for male, 45 years old from Ajmer

I am 45 year old male was taking sulfasalazine 500 mg. & methotrexate 7.5 mg. Once in a week with folic acid. Per day since 2010 almost regularly. On march 03 I was attacked by facial palsy and e.n.t. Specialist prescribed me prednisolone 20 mg. X 3 tab b.d. In tapering for one month in the last it was 5 mg. Per day. And previous treatment is stopped by the doctor. Now facial palsy is almost recovered but due to lighten I am can't go to doctor and I feel some symptoms of rheumatic arthritis like joint pain. What can I do?

You can restart you previous medication with proper consulation. Facial palsy usually recovers with time. U might need to continue the facial muscle exercises. I ver rare occasions ther can reoccur. By the way have done any nerve conduction studies of facial nerve and blink refkex. They sometimes used to predict the prognosis.
