Best option would be a fundoplication surgery, usually done laparoscopically. If would prevent the sliding hernia aswell as provide relief from the GERD. Please get ecg done
stop using rantac. Instead take tab pantop 40 mg early morning on empty stomach and after 30 minutes take syp sucralfate 10 ml. Do not eat anything until 30 minutes after taking sucralfate syrup.

I will suggest your father to get a pet scan done to know the stage of the disease and we can plan treatment accordingly and stent in food pipe is usually put to dilate the oesophagus where there is obstruction which might be causing pain.
