Hi, I am 37 years old female, I just went for mammography for breast, I was having pain in the armpits since last 10 days, now the report shows Both breasts show scattered fibroglandular parenchyma. No focal lesion is seen. No skin thickening, nipple retraction or suspicious microcalcification cluster seen. Small left axillary lymph node seen. Normal study (BIRADS-I).

Good evening sir I recently meet a dentist and starting a 1 years treatment of braces. After 3 weeks installation of braces I feel a swollen lymph node on my armpit (axillary) I deeply worried about hiv transmission through dentist accessories I concern about. Drilling burs (tooth/hard tissue cutter) used by dentist is not sterilized even I font know I assume if the burs is not sterilized then the hiv transmission possible. I am deeply concerned about swollen lymph nodes in my armpit please answer sir.

Do not assume to exclude go for hiv combo test. If still swollen lymphnode go for cbc esr and fnac lymphnode.

I had breast cancer on my right side in 2015 and had operation. I have then been receiving regular checks in public hospital and everything is normal. I had a mammogram yesterday and report says: scattered punctuate microcalcifications are noted in both breasts. No malignant criteria are noted. No dominant opacity is seen in either breast. No retraction of nipple or skin thickening is noted. One slightly prominent lymph node is noted in the left axilla. No axillary adenopathy is noted on the right side. While the report says that no malignant criteria are noted, I am very much worrying about the “slightly prominent lymph node” in the left axilla. I don't know whether it is abnormal and a cause for concern. As I still need to wait for a few months before my regular appointment with the public hospital, I am very stressful and I would like to seek your professional advice on this. Thank you very much.

Ma'am my mother is a breast cancer patient terminal. She has lost her confidence completely. We family members somehow wish that she sleeps at least in nights. Due to her negative thoughts and fear of death she even can't sleep normally, while in the day when all are around she sleeps peacefully. Currently chemotherapy is undergoing. This is the fourth recurrence. She was detected left cancer breast in 2013 faced her first recurrence in right axillary lymph nodes in 2014 and since then she is struggling to save her life but recurrences have not stopped. Hi all, My mother is Non-Hodkins Lymphoma patient and she was treated for this in 2015. The treatment got completed in 2015 august. Pet-Ct is done regularly for every 6 months. A left level 1b and II cervical lymph nodes was observed with suv max of 4.8 and size of 2.41.3 since 1 year. Last year one left axillary node was also there with suv max of 5.8 so doctors asked us to get it biopsed and result is that its not cancerous. But now in the recent pet scan report left level 1b and II cervical lymph nodes was only present and the suv max of those nodes are less than the one that is taken in the past that is 4.4 and size of 1.79 mm. previously the doctors told that those nodes may no be cancerous and suggested that no biopsy is required for that node but now as there is no other nodes other than this there are threatening us to go for biopsy. As the same node is present since 1.5 years do we still go for biopsy. We are in dilemma whether to go for biopsy or not because its under neck and if something goes wrong situation will be worse. Please suggest some thing.

Rest lumps Swelling of Lymph Node My sister is aged about 40 years. She had a lump in her right breast a mammogram was done and then 2.5 cms lump with benign lymph nodes were noted. A quadrantectomy on right breast only was done and no lymph nodes were extracted. Upon HPE it was revealed that she has ductal infiltrating carcinoma. Then PET CT was done and no distant metastasis and no lymphadenopathy was reveled. However focal activity in colon wall noted. It is advised to undergo 4 cycles of CT and the breast only irradiation. Sir what would be the ideal procedure and treatment schedule. Is removal of lymph nodes and hpe of same again required or can we just go ahead with above treatment. I can send the reports if required.

We need to address the axilla especially for staging. 30% of nodes which are negative for cancer on ultrasound, PET scan and Core Biopsy or FNAC, turn out to be positive on sentinel node Biopsy.
Ideal procedure for a negative axilla should be a sentinel node Biopsy and if found positive, then an Axillary clearance should be done. (some prefer to leave it at that if 1-2 nodes only positive or radiate the axilla)

I have done my usg yesterday & found I have 'fine fibrocystic breast changes which is a benign finding (multiple anechoic areas of variable sizes (0.9 mm to 1.2 mm) in all quadrants of both breasts) with no solid lesions, no fatty tissues, no calcification, no skin thickness bilateral normal axillary lymph nodes (right axillary 5.1 mm,4.5 mm,left breast 3.5 mm).what does it mean? What medication should I need? Is it something serious? Noted that I have pcos since last 1 year & taking hormonal pill.

X - ray - mammogram both sides technique: full field digital mammography of both breasts was performed in cranio-caudal and media-lateral oblique views observation: the fibroglandular density is normal for age in both breasts. Nipple and subareolar tissue are normal. No retraction or skin thickening is seen. Subcutaneous tissue and cooper‘s ligaments are normal. No evidence of any distortion of the tissues seen. The pectoralis and retro mammary space appears normal. No abnormal macrocalcification / microcalcification seen. Axillary tail is normal. Usg screening tiny simple cyst measuring 5.5 x 2.5 mm in the 6’o clock position of the right breast. Few axillary lymph nodes with preserved fatty hilum seen. Impression:  tiny simple cyst right breast – birads 2 – benign finding.  normal left breast.  radiologically benign appearing axillary lymph nodes.
