Dear Sachin, angioplasty is done to open blocked arteries. Among many risk factors which causes such blockage cholesterol is one. Althoough your father has risk of getting blockage at the same or other location again, with regular medication that can be minimised.

If the block in the artery has been clearly demonstrated in investigation like coronary angiography and the extent of block is significant then angioplasty or bye pass surgery is indicated. If you are not having risk factors like diabetes, hypertension, the blocks are less than 50 percent of the coronary diameter and the plaques are calcified and stabilized then conservative medicinal management can be considered. You should seek advice from a cardiologist and decide.

Please take care of your heart by eating well, moderate exercise, no smoking or exposure to pollution, no negative stress, healthy fats only that too in limited amounts. I have seen people living guilt free for more than 15 years + without another heart surgery.
You can reduce the risks of blockages by taking lemon juice plus honey, apple cider vinegar, pomegranate juice or whole fruit.
Take care and do not worry about next heart attack or surgery.

Tobacco smoke contains co gas, which helps bad cholesterol to adhere to arteries, particularly coronary artery, so smokers are prone to coronary artery disease.
