Hi lybrate-user.
Its simple to reduce swollen ankles and pain at home within just a week.
Apply diclofenac to the area of pain and cover it for 10-15 mins, clean it with warm water following hot water fermentation.
Take a hot water tub mix salt in it and ask her to keep the foot in water. This reduces pain and swelling. Do this for twice a day.
If pain is severe give zerodol p tablet once a day for three days.
Follow back if any.
Thank you.

Hello lybrate-user,
there are multiple causes of ankle swelling at your age.
As there is no history of trauma the other causes suggest thyroid, anaemia etc should be ruled out.
You don't have to worry so much but you need to get some tests done.
1. Hb cbc
2. Thyroid profile
3. Check blood pressure from local doctor
4. Renal function test
5. Liver function tests.
6. Usg (sonography) abdo and kub
consult me on Lybrate after all the tests done
