For that opg x-ray is required to gauge 1. The level of bone covering the tooth, 2. Tooth placement with the nerve, 3. Clinically how it is placed in the mouth and 4. Its relationship with the opposing teeth, 5. Chances for its eruption. If the patient complains of pain, and restricted mouth opening then it is advisable to take the wisdom tooth out. As per your age, chances are very less that it will come now also if it does not...more

Yes probably it is due to traumatic extraction of the adjacent tooth. Sometimes this can happen.
Rinse your mouth after having meals immedaitely with warm saline water.
Keep your oral hygiene good.
Don't disturb that area with tongue.
And visit your dentist for further advice. You can apply gum paint to soothe and heal that area.

If you have got your treatment done already, then it is well and good. But if you are merely taking medicines without proper treatment of pain, it is advisable to visit the dentist and get the treatment first.
The tooth pain can be due to many reasons like cavity, sensitivity or any kind of trauma.
