Tips to avoid getting open pores 1. Fresh aloe vera can be used on open pores as it will help hydrate your skin and tighten it. 2. Banana run the inside of banana peel against your skin. Wash it after 10-15 minutes 3. Cleanse regularly with a mild cleanser twice a day to keep the pores clean. 4. Exfoliate on a regular basis to remove the dead skin. 5. A deep-pore cleansing once a month will keep the pores clear. 6. Remove your makeup before sleeping. 7. Use lukewarm water rather than hot water to wash your face. 8. Don t squeeze blackheads or pimples. 9. Eat more fruits and vegetables. 10. Stay hydrated.

Know More About Acne!

Now a days acne is very common condition in young population. There are various factors responsible for it.

Causes of acne in young male-

  • Hormonal- in young age hormonal peak is responsible for most acne breakouts. Testosterone levels increases during puberty causing acne episodes.
  • Stress- increasing stress causes increased level of cortisol levels which in turn causes testosterone to increase leading to acne breakouts.
  • Diet- nutrition does play a role in acne episodes. Increased junk food intake, dairy products causes more breakouts.
  • Dry skin- using products to exfoliate your skin which causes dryness is also bad as it causes sebaceous glands to secrete more sweat which blocks pores.

Difference between male and female acne-

Males usually get acne during their puberty and severity is more in males compared to females. This is because of following reasons-

  • Males have thick epidermis.
  • Higher levels of sebum
  • More facial pores
  • Less elasticity
  • More acidic skin.

Treatment modalities-

Depending on the cause of acne treatment options differ. Most effective form of medication is retinoid derivatives both topical and oral. If lesions are inflammatory antibiotics have role. Apart from this if hormonal levels are high then medications to control them can be given. Diet, healthy habits, proper sleep also helps in treating acne significantly.

To prevent pimples, eat fresh fruits, green vegetables, drinking plenty of water should be an essential part of your routine and intake of oily fried foods, an excess of sugar-salt should be avoided. Don't peal pimples, as they tend to leave scars. Stop using soap on face. Instead take a spoon of milk, add a pinch of turmeric (haldi). Mix n apply on face with the help of cotton. Leave for a few minutes then wash off. It’s a good cleanser. If skin is dry then apply moisturizer like coconut oil. For swollen pimples, gently apply ice for a minute or so. Just don't keep the ice on so long that it irritates your skin. Tea tree oil can kill bacteria. Some people use it to treat minor skin irritations, including acne. There isn't much research on how effective it is, but tea tree oil is safe to put directly on your skin in a diluted form. Try it on a small area first to make sure you don't have an allergic reaction. Simple honey mask--before applying this mask, rinse your face with warm water to open up pores. Then apply honey and leave it on the skin for 30 minutes. Rinse the honey off with warm water; then rinse again with cold water to close the pores. Yeast and yogurt mask for oily skin--oily skin is prone to acne, and this home remedy can reduce excess oil and help clear acne. To make the mask, combine 1 teaspoon of brewer's yeast with a little plain yogurt to create a thin mixture. Apply it thoroughly to all the oily areas and leave on for 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water; then use cold water to close the pores.Homeopathy is a very effective for this problem n has very encouraging results. For more details consult online.

Hi! depending on the severity of pimples, skin type, co morbid conditions like having thyroid etc ,frequency and duration of cream will be prescribed. Usually, you should use a very small quantity at night as it can cause dryness if used more. You can use daily if your skin shows no kind of reactivity. If not adjusting ,use alternatively.

CO2 Laser Treatment - Know Utility Of It In Acne Scars!

People suffering from acne scars go through mental pressure as well as emotional problems. Studies have shown that people suffering from acne scars are more likely to suffer from anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and low confidence. Typical causes of acne include bacteria, excess oil, and clogged hair follicles. The acne can get more severe due to some medications, stress, or diet.

Severe acne may be treated with proper medications but it leaves behind scars. These scars can be treated with the fractional CO2 laser. The method includes treatment of the scarred skin that results in healthy skin.

Benefits of Fractional CO2 Laser Treatment-

This method is opted by those who suffer from acne. The benefits of this method are:

  • It not only reduces the scars but also reduces the sign of aging, smoking lines, wrinkles, and several other unwanted facial lines.

  • This treatment comes with minimal discomfort that too only when some topical cream is applied to the skin.

  • This treatment works even on darker skin types, including Asian skin.

  • The recovery period of this treatment is 4 days or less.

Fractional CO2 Laser Working

During the procedure, several rays of the CO2 laser will create miniature holes (microscopic holes) below the surface of the skin to help generate the new collagen. This new and healthy collagen keeps the skin very youthful. Fractional CO2 works only on the affected area leaving the unaffected ones and this helps in speeding up the recovery.

Method of Fractional CO2 Laser Treatment

The whole treatment is performed using topical anaesthesia and a topical numbing cream is applied on the screen before an hour of the treatment starts. Throughout the procedure, the patient would be awake and may feel a little discomfort.

A session would hardly take an hour. During the hour you will feel the peeling of the skin and a slight sunburned sensation of the skin. This sensation on the skin will last for 4-5 days.

The treatment is customized according to the needs of the customer. There are two types of treatment:

  • Shallow treatment: The recovery period lasts for only 2-3 days as the treatment is not very critical.

  • Deeper treatment: Requires the holes to go deeper down the skin and would take more time to recover for around seven to ten days. However, the result of the treatment depends on the depth of the treatment.

After the treatment, there might be less noticeable scars and less aging signs along with all other skin conditions. The skin will start getting clearer. However, the actual result of the treatment will start showing after a week and will continue to show till six months. It is always advisable to consult an experienced and skilled dermatologist.

Oily skin is my problem. Skin is getting very oily in morning, Acne is another problem and Hair is oily for this reason.
1. Wash face regularly --washing regularly can reduce the amount of oil on the skin. Wash with a gentle soap and warm water 2. Use a toner--astringent toners that contain alcohol tend to dry out the skin. U should test out any new toner on a small patch of skin to avoid potential irritation. 3. Pat the face dry--when drying the face after washing and using toner, people should gently pat their skin dry with a soft towel. This should be done with care, however. Pulling down on the skin with a towel, or using a rough washcloth, is not advised, as it may stimulate the skin to create more sebum. 4. Use blotting papers-- blotting papers will not treat the sebum production in the skin, but they can be used to lift excess oil off the skin throughout the day to make it appear less shiny. 5. You can apply aloe vera juice/gel from its leaf (fresh), not from ready made gels available in market. Remove skin of an aloe vera leaf. Take /scoop out gel. Apply this gel to your skin. Wash with plain water after an hour. Also stay hydrated, avoid greasy foods and trans fats, and to eat a well-rounded diet full of whole foods.

Acne - How Effective Is Homeopathy In It?

Homeopathy is a branch of medicine that focuses on improving the body's healing mechanism to treat the cause of the disease. Acne is a skin condition that results in lesions (pimples) in the face or other areas of the body. Homeopathic treatments are based on the premise of removing the cause of the disease rather than just curing the symptoms.
Homeopathic remedies are prescribed after a thorough analysis of your medical history, emotional and physical constitution. All Homeopathic medicines are based on achieving potency of the substance which is done by diluting it with water and alcohol. In case of acne, this treatment controls oily secretion in the skin, removes acne-related scars and eliminates underlying conditions such as hormonal imbalance that causes acne.

Various Homeopathic remedies to treat acne are:

1. Sanguinaria
It is a very effective remedy for treating acne in women who have problems in their periods. It is also used in acne treatment in women who suffer from sexual problems.

2. Silica
This treatment enhances the immune system of the body so that acne formation in the body is reduced. This is a common treatment for people who have recurrent bouts of acne.

3. Calcariasulphuricum
This treatment is recommended for people who regularly have large pimples filled with pus. The person tends to be easily affected by heat.

4. Dulcamara
It is used in treating acne as well as scars left by acne. It is usually recommended for acne that occurs due to climate changes.

5. Natrum Muriaticum
This treatment is made from common salt and is used to treat acne that results from menstrual irregularities and other hormonal disturbances. It is also used for treating oily skin and other rashes which result from it.

6. Arctium lappa
It is a Homeopathic remedy for treating symptoms of acne and its scars.
