Stretching and strengthening exercises or use of specialized devices may provide symptom relief. These include:
physical therapy. A physical therapist can instruct you in a series of exercises to stretch the plantar fascia and achilles tendon and to strengthen lower leg muscles, which stabilize your ankle and heel. A therapist might also teach you to apply athletic taping to support the bottom of your foot.
Night splints. Your physical therapist or doctor might recommend that you wear a ...more

During the summer I woke up and was stretching when it started to feel like my achilles tendon or somewhere around there was super stiff and tight. I thought I had to have torn something because it was terrible pain and I could not walk normal. My dad wrapped it up after about 8 hours of it hurting and soon after it went away literally in the blink of an eye. I had came to the conclusion it was just cramping. All was good until I severely sprained my ankle tumbling. Im a competitive cheerleader so I perform very hard skills that are very hard on my body. I have had a lot of ankle pains from previous sprains for many years, but nothing terrible at all. Anyways, my ankle finally started to feel better and back to normal so I started to slowly get back into things. I was just standing at practice and the same thing happened this did during the summer. I almost collapsed because the pain was so bad. My trainer also thought it was a cramp but started to feel that I strained my achilles. It took over a day but the pain weny from a 9 put of 10 to 0 in the blink of an eye. It happened again about a week ago but only lasted for 10 minutes. Now its happening again, and its been about 9 hours and it still has not gone away. Whenever it happens I try to stretch it out as best as I can but it usually goes away randomly. Also, unlike other achilles injuries, I can walk on my toes perfectly fine, but as soon as I put my heel down, it just feels as if something is tearing. I cannot walk normal and the more I hyper extend my foot the more it hurts. If anyone can please just give me an idea of whats going on or what to do anything would be appreciated. Thanks so much.

Get treated with Ultrasonic therapy which would directly heal the calcaneal spur (inflammation of the calcaneum bone) which causes the heel pain in majority of the cases. Along with ultrasonic therapy, shortwave diathermy also can be given. Simultaneously it is better to wear MCR chappals (micro cellular rubber) which will help to transfer the weight evenly in the feet so that the weight will be completely felt in the heel area. Human body moves in an agile manner because of the wonderful coordination between the muscles and bones. The bones are connected to the muscles by what are known as tendons. These are fibrous, thinner than bones, but thicker than muscles and enable movement.

However, due to overuse, trauma, or inflammation, these tendons can be affected. Symptoms include constant dull ache, weakness, stiffness, and limited movement of the affected area. With exercise or sudden movement, the pain can be ...more

I am having severe low back pain for 10 weeks. I have been to doctor, they said that I have to strengthen my muscles and be more physically active, one doctor also said that I have scoliosis while other doctor denied it. So I attend physical therapy and it doesn't seem to help. At first, my pain occurred while sitting or standing but it was fine when I walked and lied on my side with pillow between my knees. Now it hurts even more and spreads to hips, it is burning pain, I have a feeling like my back is inflamed, but it doesn't hurt when I touch it. Now even injections don't help me, it hurts so much. Also, I am not stiff at all. I don't know weather that matters but my both achilles tendons hurt a little, and my ankles and knees. I also have mild flat feet and wear orthotcis but I have never felt pain or problems because of my flat feet. My grandfather has ankylosing spondylitis so I thought that maybe I have it as well but I am not stiffed. Could you tell where could be my problem? I am 19 years old, weigh 65 kg and have 170 cm.
