Acanthosis Nigricans is a skin condition in which there is darker, thick, velvety skin in body folds and creases. The skin becomes dark, velvety and thick in areas such as back and sides of neck, armpits, thighs, elbows and knees.

Nopes...dont go for such things...there are hundreds of patients under me who have gone for such skin peeling and skin treatment and along with this they get menstrual irregularities keeps on putting weight...etc and what not....

Dark underarms are generally caused by sweating, improper cleaning, dead skin cells, and friction caused as a result of different qualities of clothes. In some people dark underarms could be due to the alcohol content in the deodorants or the shaving products that they use. Another common cause of dark underarms is plucking and shaving. Every time you pluck or shave it causes micro-abrasions. These wounds on healing cause darkening of the skin.
