Hello I have recently traced that I have thyroid. Upto now I faced with irregular menstrual problems for the past 3 years. And getting treated. Doctors said its hormone imbalance and I used regestrone, primolut etc kind tablets. Upto now. My main fear is. How far it takes to clear this problem. This causes pregnancy issues? I am about to get married.

There is a possibility that at least in part your irregular periods are due to thyroid dysfunction. Therefore if you take the right dose of thyroxine it should get better .Regesterone or primulut-n do not cause any issues with getting pregnant in the future

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. PP 260 mg is high. Ideally it should be <180 mg or even lower. HbA1c% <7. Your BMI is 27.45 kgs? M2, (normal <23 kgs). You are over weight by about 16 to 17 kgs. This is one of the reasons for blood glucose remaining high. You need to give a close look at your diet, daily exercise and the drugs being taken. There needs to be a change in the treatment and lifestyle. Thanks.

Aged 54. Diabetes patient. Three teeth fell down up and down side. I cant take hot or cold drinks.Often i affected gum swelling either right or left side. Using herbal tooth paste and soft brush only. Recently one doctor given prescription as: Tab ZERODOL sp ; T. METROGYL 400gm ; cap TRESMOX LB 500 mg & T. CYRA-D all for three days. But on that day i can have no problems. But again its giving problems. I only take chicken monthly once. Please give permanent solutions. I belongs to lower middle class family.

Diabetics are more prone to gum diseases if oral hygiene is not properly taken care of. The swelling you are talking about is the manifestation of the gum disease. So its better that you visit a dentist for cleaning of your teeth & then the dentist can assess the exact condition of your teeth & can provide the appropriate treatment. But make it a point to brush your teeth & use a mouthwash twice daily & get your teeth cleaned once in 6 months.

Hello, It can be due to diabetes neuropathy. Control your sugar levels throughout and include vitamin B12 rich sources in the diet like low fat dairy, seafood, eggs, poultry etc. Cobalamin supplements can be taken based on diabetolgist recommendations. Include high fiber, chromium rich diet.

Regarding sugar complaint, before food 250 after food 360 kindly give a suggestion to control without tab thanks

Mr. Lybrate-user, if you do not have diabetes, but if family history of diabetes is there, then you need to take precautions so as to avoid developing diabetes in future. One to avoid that is by adapting modified life style- which means taking a balanced diet, avoiding sweets, deep fried foods, junk foods, pastries, other bakery items, sweetened aerated drinks (colas), avoiding highly processed food products, fructose corn syrup containing products, high fat containing milk products and red meat. Consume a good deal of green leafy vegetables and salads. Use whole grain food products than refined foods. Also refrain from alcohol and smoking. Regular exercise of at least 1 hour so as to maintain normal weight, (your bmi is 24.91 kgs/m2). If this is done then diabetes can be prevented or onset can be delayed. Thanks.

Premature greying of hair can be due to stress, smoking, nutritional deficiency, thyroid disorder, chemical use over hair etc. but most important cause is hereditary factor. As such nothing much can be done for premature greying esp if it is hereditary or familial. The hair that has turned white would remain so but its progression can be prevented to some extent by taking hair supplements containing calcium pantothenate and PABA. For the same you may take tablet follihair one daily. Food rich in proteins (like sprouts, lentils, soy products), vitamin A and B like whole wheat products, green leafy vegetables, carrots, yellow and orange fruits like mangoes, papayas, nuts like sunflower seeds, walnuts, sesame seeds provide minerals like copper which are essential for maintaining hair pigment. Hope that answers your query. Feel free to write back if having any doubts. Regards

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. Beta blockers are used quite often to control hypertension and related cardiac problems in patients with diabetes also. They are fairly safe. Some times hypoglycemic episodes may not be easily recognised. Thanks.
