Healthy Heart - 5 Must-do Lifestyle Changes For It!

Lifestyle is one of the best defences against heart disease. All you need to do to maintain good heart health is to just make simple but significant changes to your lifestyle. By doing so, you end up minimising the risk factors associated with heart disease such as coronary artery disease.

The lifestyle changes that you must make for a healthy heart are:

1. Be physically active - Research by Harvard University shows that watching television for 2 hours a day can increase your chances of developing heart disease by 15%. But if you exercise or indulge in some kind of physical activity for about 30 minutes every day, you can significantly improve the health of your heart as any kind of physical activity improves your blood circulation as well as blood pressure.

2. Maintain a healthy body weight - Having a low body weight or a high one can also put you at risk of getting heart disease. For a good heart health, you need to protect it from fatigue and damage. By keeping your weight at an optimum level, your blood circulation, as well as body fluids, end up working efficiently, protecting your heart from unnecessary strain.

3. Have a balanced diet - Foods that are low in calories but high in fibre and nutrients are what your heart needs to stay healthy. A very common cause of heart disease is the consumption of high cholesterol foods like processed meats, desserts, etc. Including seafood like tuna or salmon, whole grains, fruits and vegetables, and lean proteins such as chicken and fish to your diet can reduce your risk of developing heart disease.

4. Manage stress - Stress is another factor that causes you to have poor heart health. To prevent the damaging effect that stress can have on your heart, exercising is what you should do. This is because when you exercise, you release endorphins (brain chemicals that trigger a feel-good feeling in your body), which help in improving your physical and mental makeup. Additionally, exercising has also been found to reduce your chances of dying from a heart attack.

5. Quit smoking - Research reveals that smoking raises your chance of getting heart disease by about 2-4 times. It causes plaque (fatty deposits) to accumulate and harden in your arteries, making your heart to exert itself harder than normal. By kicking the habit, you reduce the strain that is caused to your lungs, thereby to your heart. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a cardiologist.

Dear lybrateuser, - Take more of fibrous foods like fruits, green leafy vegetables, whole grains like wholewheat, brown rice, corn, oats, beans, legumes, peas, nuts - have protein foods like low fat milk & milk products, yogurt, butter milk, paneer, egg( 2-3 per week) - heart healthy fats as in fish, mackeral, tuna, walnuts, olive & canola oil, avocados, mixed nuts like almonds, walnuts, pista, cashews - avoid fried, processed & junk foods, restrict salt, sugar in food, also avoid foods containing saturated & trans fats - have healthy snacks like fruit, salad, yogurt, wholewheat sandwich, corn, nuts.

Hi Lybrate User To get rid of your problem you need protein and fiber rich diets. You have to take luke warm water in sufficient amount. You can take Tablet Erandbharast Haritaki 2 tablets before going to bed with lukewarm water. Go to sleep early and get up early. You can also use esbagol husk with lukewarm water. Very easy but keep hygiene with FLP aloe liquid soap add a spoon of pure turmeric ,a spoon of sodium bicarbonate (BAKING SODA) add a spoon of FLP BEE HONEY .local application, but one can use in different modes 3-4 times .Fo oral bacterial or/ allergic reactions take a FLP Echinacia TDS with with FLP Garlic Thyme during 1/2 meals .lot of 2-3 LTR plum little yoga on advice.

I am just 27years old, I got diabetes one year ago. My parents both are diabetic. Once when I was diagnosed with diabetes iam keeping my sugar levels in control with medications. And few months ago I have undergone semen analysis test and I found my sperm count as 20million and motility 40%. Iam married guy and when I came to knew I got diabetes iam planning for children, and also sexual feelings reduced in me and my sexual organ is not fully enlarging while doing sex. Diabetic pts do have the sexual problem unless the diabetes is kept under control as well as body wt as per bmi due tonf I abetes you are having erectyle dysfunction and premature ejasculation. The size of your penis is within normal limits start drinking pomegranate's juices which helps growth, density, concentration of sperms and also helps erectyle dysfunction and premature ejasculation. Have nutritious food and plenty of water by mouth go for mornings walk followed by free hand exercises also do yoga and pranayum like kapal bhatee. Iitbwill help you.

I have done LIPID PROFILE today. The result are cholesterol 112Mg. LDL 46.2Mg. HDL 29Mg. Triglycerides 184Mg. Also done and Result Uric Acid 4.4Mg. Blood Sugar (Fasting) 76mg. Blood sugar (PP) 100Mg. Hemoglobin 12% Any problem for Heart Decease in Future? And any medicine prescribe for me for control Triglycerides.

But when we take mutton, chicken, yellow part of a boiled egg, ghee, butter etc we intake cholesterol from external source. This extra cholesterol from external sources increase the total cholesterol content of human body.
