Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold). Advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Ankle stretching. Ankle strengthening exercises. Avoid squatting. Quadriceps exercises. Core strenthening exercises.

the results of meniscal repair depends on the site of the meniscal injury. Only peripheral tear have better outcomes. there is always a risk of failure of repair because the meniscus is not well vascularised (doesnt have much blood supply except in the periphery). if you still have pain then you may require a repeat MRI to see if the tear has recurred. speak to your surgeon

Usually arm pain while sleeping indicates that a nerve had been impinged either due to faulty pillow, improper neck or shoulder position. It could be a sign of cervical spondylitis but without more information it is difficult to diagnose.

Core strengthening exercises- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Back stretching- lie flat, pull one of the knee forward to chest, hold for 3 seconds, then bring the other knee forward to the chest and again hold for 3 seconds. Then pull both knees towards the chest and hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 10 times each exercise twice a day.

I am suffering from back pain after doing lower body workout in gym. Every time when I do lower body doms (delayed onset muscle soreness) will effect me in such a way that it is difficult to even walk and pain remains for 3-4 days. So please suggest me some weight loss tips.

Hi take hot water bath twice daily, sleep on hard and even mattress. Kindly rule out your diabetes, calcium, vitamin d and other metabolic disorders. Do exercise under supervision of trainer. Follow healthy diet. Do 2 activities alternate like walking/swimming or aerobics/yoga. Best wishes.

Hi, go for a walk in d morning. Go for meditation to nourish your whole body & brain, too to calm down your nerve. Take easily digestible, simple, non- irritant diet on time. Your dinner b one hr before going to sleep. Avoid, watching tvs in d late night. Ensure sound sleep for 6/7 hrs in d night. Homoeo medicines: @ rhus tox 200-6 pills, thrice a day. @ coffea cruda209- 6 pills before 1/2 an hr going to bed. Take care.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You are very young to actually have persistent back pains. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - to maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc we will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like, dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. Hi, the injection is for relief pain for long term but it works for short term. And why you are going with that injection it will be cured by physiotherapist without any medicine. If you have any doubts revert me back.

I have a prob" avascular necrosis" in my right hip joint, I had an operation before 3 yrs ago. They said that. They drilled and inserted an bone inside the bone joint at hip joint (right), the problem is. Now also if sm stress is applied. Or else, if I walk fr a while its paining. So wat should I do. To remove the pain permanently. Smtyms knee gets irritating and very painful. So please help me out. Thanx.

Ask your friend to take essential rest for better healing of his condition. Avoid overusing knee, stop climbing stairs, sports activities etc in case it is aggravating his knee pain. Ice will reduce pain and swelling. Apply ice or cold packs immediately to prevent or minimize swelling. Apply the ice or cold pack for 10 to 20 minutes, 3 or more times a day. Elevate the injured or sore area on pillows while applying ice and anytime you are sitting or lying down. Try to keep the area at or above the level of your heart to help minimize swelling. Compression, or wrapping the injured or sore area with an elastic bandage, will help decrease swelling. Don't wrap it too tightly, since this can cause more swelling below the affected area. Loosen the bandage if it gets too tight. It’s important to find the cause behind the pain and swelling. Please consult a Physiotherapist.

I can understand that its tough to do your daily chores living with pain. Your pain could be due to tight or weak back muscles. Try changing your posture when sitting for long periods, take a break and do stretching exercises when sitting for long time. Also hot and cold fermentation can help. Back pain can be due to many causes. Wish you fast recovery.
