To reduce belly fat avoid sugar, sweetened juice, fast foods, junk foods etc. Do exercise like skipping, push up, plank etc. Drink plenty of water specially before meals. Use watery fruits, vegetables. Use lukewarm water after meals.

Hi doctor I am lean. I want to become fat want I want to eat. My weight is 59 kgs only. Nd my age is 22. I want 70keg...
Hye, thanks for the query. Being underweight can be a concern if it's the result of poor nutrition. Here are some healthy ways to gain weight when you're underweight: eat more frequently. When you're underweight, you may feel full faster. Eat five to six smaller meals during the day rather than two or three large meals. Choose nutrient-rich foods. As part of an overall healthy diet, choose whole-grain breads, rice and cereals; fruits and vegetables; dairy products; lean protein sources; and nuts. Don't fill up on diet soda, coffee and other drinks with few calories and little nutritional value. Instead, drink smoothies or healthy shakes. Snack on nuts, dried fruits and fresh fruits. Even when you're underweight, be mindful of excess sugar and fat. An occasional slice of cake or ice cream is fine. But most sweets should be healthy and provide nutrients in addition to calories. Sheera, lassi and chikki are good choices. Exercise, especially strength training, can help you gain weight by building up your muscles. Exercise may also stimulate your appetite.

Seeing a Sudden Rise in DANDRUFF? Here?s What You Need To Do!

Seeing a Sudden Rise in DANDRUFF? Here?s What You Need To Do!

5 simple ways to prevent dandruff in winter

Dandruff is becoming increasingly common. This scalp condition can exacerbate in winter since the humidity of the air around you decreases, which results in dry skin and an itchy scalp. But there are certain ways in which you can prevent the onset of dandruff during winters. Read on to find out.

1. Wash your hair with lukewarm water
You may find a shower with hot water a great way to start your day, but unfortunately, it has a negative effect on your scalp. Hot water baths are responsible for scalp irritation and effectively increase inflammation, which ultimately leads to the occurrence of dandruff. So, always opt for lukewarm water to wash your hair in order to maintain the natural moisture level of your scalp.

2. Give your scalp a coconut oil massage
Make it a habit to massage your scalp with 3-5 tablespoons of coconut oil before sleeping at night. Rinse away the oil the following morning using a gentle shampoo. Regularly following this remedy proves to be beneficial in keeping dandruff away from your scalp.

3. Watch your diet
You can ensure that your scalp remains healthy during winters by including moderate amounts of vitamin b, omega 3 fatty acids and zinc in your diet. To get these nutrients eat foods like walnuts, leafy vegetable, and eggs etc. These foods can help in keeping your scalp hydrated, thus preventing the occurrence of dandruff.

4. Stay away from hair styling products
Winter robs away the moisture from your scalp, which makes it highly vulnerable to damage on exposure to harsh chemicals. Most hair styling products (such as hair colours) contain strong chemicals, and if you use them frequently during the winters, you may end up having an itchy scalp resulting in dandruff later.

5. Use conditioners and shampoos containing tea tree oil
Hair care products like shampoos and conditioners made of tea tree oil help in restoring moisture to your scalp, which in turn stops dandruff from occurring. Alternatively, giving your scalp a tea tree oil massage two times every week works wonders for your hair and keeps dandruff at bay.

I have a severe back pain. I am 27 years old. Please provide me the solution to recover from this pain.
First of all check your posture when you are lifting any material like heavy bucket. And try to lift the heavy bucket without bending your back. You may lift the bucket after bending your knees only. This will definitely help you. * gentle massage with lukewarm mustard oil of your waist area will also give you relief. * surya namaskar is only exercise which you need to do. * in diet vegetable protein of cereal, b complex supplements and half teaspoon of haldi in a cup of milk for seven days will give you enough relief.

Hi lybrate-user periods usually come within 7 days of stopping ovral. Wait for 3 more days. If still periods have not come get a pregnancy test done at home as chances of pregnancy can never be ruled out.

I have a big breast so I want to reduce it so please give me a suggestion to reduce my breast.

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
Identify your problem first, you need to know why your Breasts are big, this can only be because of: 1. Genetics 2. Obesity 3. Lactation( for lactating mothers) 4. Hormonal Changes 5. Drug side effects You must understand if you are large because of your genes, there is not much you can do without medical intervention. The best is to control your body weight and keep your breast tissue firm to avoid any health hazards. Rest all the other causes can be treated and taken care of with exercises, change in drugs and of course some prescribed medicines. The causes are dealt with in depth here. Body fat reduction plan consists of three phases- food plan , exercise to reduce body fat and then striking the balance between both – your diet and exercise pattern.

Dear,People who are underweight and do not have fat deposits on their body may not be getting enough calories to fuel their body. This could have a direct impact on all of their organs and may eventually lead to a variety of health problems. There are ways to get into the shape we desire and to gain weight fast. This would require understanding the reason for low weight and maintaining a diet for weight gain. In weight loss, the simple formula is to burn more calories than you consume, but to gain weight you have to also find out if there is something in your body that is preventing you from getting to the weight that you desire. Hello doctor, Last few months I have been suffering from irregular periods. I had consulted many doctors for this matter every doctor said it's due to my weight. I am actually 60 kgs. So they told whatever I am suffering becoz of weight. One of the doctor asked me to do many reports like sonography and finally she told its PCOD she even said I need to loose my weight. and further suggested some medicines i. E. Himalaya evecare syrup n obimetSR 500mg tablet. Doctor I don't know what is the purpose of this obimetSR 500mg tablet. and will it help me to reduce weight?

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, MBBS
Gynaecologist,
Hello doctor,
Last few months I have been suffering from irregular periods. I had consulted many doctors for this mat...
Your age is 18, and for a height of 5.2 feet, your weight 60, though appearing normal, is to be considered along with your problem. For an indian woman, of height 5.2 feet the ideal weight is 45-59, so if you take an average it is about 52kg, and hence your 60 appears" more" you have been suspected to have pcod and this is a very common finding nowadays. Pcod is not an unsurmountable disease, and it can be helped with medicines and some lifestyle modification. During pcod the body's chemical capacity to utilise glucose is altered, and hence there is a cascade of events like weight gain, irregular menses, acne and darkening of skin etc. Weight gain is crucial factor. The best way to curb this disease is to control weight using a multi modal approach like - diet -exercise - medicines. So visit a good dietician and chart out a healthy diet, do regular cardiovascular exercises which help in burning the excess fat thats accumulated as excess weight in body. If your weight goes down by even 5 kg, you will experience a good regularisation of your menstrual cycle on it's own, without resorting to any medications. Of course we can give medicines like metformin etc to help patients with pcod, but they are not the only factor that can regulate this disease. Life style modification is the cornerstone in management of pcod. As regards taking himalaya evecare is concerned, I being an allopathy doctor cannot comment on it, as it is a ayurvedic preparation.

1. Use mild shampoo to wash hair (you can make your own shampoo using reetha and shikakai at home) 2. Stop using conditioners. Use natural conditioners like Egg, Yougurt and Lemon. 3. Massage your scalp with a mix of oils like olive, coconut, sesame, castor oil at night. 4. Apply raw amla juice on hair thrice a week. 5.Rub your scalp with the juice of white onion. 6.Use a paste of bhringraj on hair. 7.You can use some good hair packs like - fenugreek and yogurt, egg and green tea. 8.You can rinse your hair with organic apple cider vinegar after washing your hair to maintain ph balance of your hair. 9.Hair health depends on the amount of protein in your diet. Foods like chicken, eggs, fish, nuts, dry fruits gives you the required nutrients to keep your skin and hair healthy. So consume plenty of them. Eat things rich in Vitamin C like amla and oranges. 10.Drink lots of water to flush out toxins from the body.

Healthy Eating

Dentist, Ghaziabad
Healthy Eating

If your diet is low in the nutrients your body needs, your mouth may have a more difficult time resisting infection. A poor diet can lead to gum disease and tooth decay.
Eventually these acids can cause tooth enamel to break down, forming a cavity. Foods that contain sugars of any kind can contribute to tooth decay.

Foods that protect against decay:
Cheese: consuming cheese after a sugary snack prevents increase in acidity. Cheese stimulates saliva and is rich in calcium influencing the balance of re-calcifying teeth and protecting against loss of calcium.

Cow’s milk: contains lactose, which is less acid producing than other sugars and does not promote decay as readily. In addition, it also contains calcium, phosphorus, and casein, all of which help stop decay. However bottle-feeding milk at night can cause decay.

Human breast milk: contains 7% lactose and is lower in calcium and phosphate. It generally does not initiate decay except in cases of high frequency nighttime feeding and prolonged on demand feeding.

Plant foods: are fibrous and protect teeth by mechanically stimulating saliva. Peanuts, hard cheeses, and gum that contains xylitol can act the same way.

Black & green teas: are particularly rich in polyphenols and flavonoids, which are complex antioxidant compounds found in many plant foods. The fluoride in black tea may also protect against decay.

Chocolate: there is some evidence that cocoa in an unrefined form (without added sugars) may have some anti-decay potential due to polyphenolic compounds present, but processed chocolate is too high in sugar to be good for the teeth.

Looking after your teeth is important if you want them to last a lifetime! sticking to a nutritionally sound diet that is low in free sugars, high in fiber — lots of fruits and vegetables — and drinking plenty of water (preferably fluoridated) will safeguard your oral and dental health as well as your general health and well-being.

Start gymnastics or swimming daily. 2-3 hrs swimming 5-6 times a week will help, not less. Do for yoga asanas which involve stretching of your backbone/spine. You can go for tada asana, paschimtana asana, surya namaskar asana etc. Increase your protein and calcium intake. Start taking 2 tsp of ashwagandha avlehya with milk at night daily. Follow this regime for next 6 months to 1 year.

The failure to gain normal weight generally has a few reasons like inappropriate dietary habit specifically low in protein, physical over activity more than calorie intake and in cases were this factors are absent then most likely their is a problem in metabolism or some clinical conditions or some diseases like hyperthyroidism, protein malabsorption syndrome, etc. If you can share your more details than we can help you.
