I am suffering from pain in region including lower abdomen and scrotal sac I think it might be orchitis but I'm not sure. Pain occurs suddenly and is sharp in nature. History of present illness is past 3 months as pain occurs suddenly no fixed time. I had my USG OF ABDOMEN DONE. IT WAS NORMAL. I also fear of it to be hernia? But actually what it is and proper treatment for it.

May be a simple pull on the testis during some inadvertant jump of vehicle over some speed breaker or a pothole on the road, because your USG is reportedly normal ( ruling out a ureteric stone, which could cause a raditing pain in lower abdomen to scrotal sac ), and you are not complaining of burning or obstructed urination hence less likely to be due to bladder infection. Try to wear a लंगोट to support the testis for 15 days and drive cautiously in rough roads. I hope it will subside after that.

Hello- these symptoms are associated with irregular digestion as pitta dosha after meals moves toward the heart and thus causes anxiety and palpitation. There is no role of anti-depressants and psychotic medication in this as they provide symptomatic relief but worsens the conditions during next episode, they also have ill effects on your central nervous system by making it slow. Use these safe ayurvedic medicines- a) prabhakar vati 1 tab twice daily after meals. B) pitta shekhar ras 1 tab twice daily. C) manas mitra vatakam 1 tab use sos.

SAY NO TO NEGATIVE THOUGHTS !

Unwanted thoughts can make you feel anxious or depressed. They may keep you from enjoying your life.

A technique called thought-stopping can help you stop unwanted thoughts.

  • What you think can affect how you feel. Thought-stopping helps you change how you think so that you feel better.
  • Changing your thinking will take some time. You need to practice thought-stopping every day. After a while, you'll be able to stop unwanted thoughts right away.
  • Some people may need more help to stop unwanted thoughts. Talk to your doctor or a therapist if you want more help to stop thoughts that bother you.

Am a chain smoker. Now am controlled it. But daily one or two cigarettes smoking continuous. What the way to am stopping. If any nikodin flavour chocolates available in store.

Reparenting Technique, BA, BEd
Psychologist, Bangalore
Even one or two cigarettes are harmful. Nicotine tabs are available but may not be in flavors you desire. Nicotine chewing gums are also there. The urge to discontinue is hampered by many factors but the worst of them is the conditioning. In fact these conditions can exist all through the day unlike other addictions. But your desire to want to stop is the most important factor. It is important to find out about the ill-effects of smoking to have a reason that alarms you about continuing in the habit. The information is really scary but true. The nicotine in tobacco smoke stimulates the heart beat to raise the blood pressure in no time at all. So you must avoid it like the plague: it is just very bad medicine for you. In fact it is highly toxic too. You will need to stop smoking or consuming any tobacco related items with immediate effect. You should start vigorous exercises, gradually increasing it over a period of time. Do deep breathing exercises every time you feel like smoking (try Yoga), and replace the oral urge with some healthy food substitute to satiate the need. You may also take hard candy or chewing gum. If the urge is too strong, then use nicotine chewing gum or nicotine patches, for a little while until the smoking drive reduces, substantially. You may also join Smokers Anonymous in your city where the support is really extraordinary for like-minded people who are also in the same situation. Keep yourself occupied or engaged with interesting activities during the times when it is most tempting. Keep the company of non-smokers for some time i.e. at least for the first 21 days. Above all announce it to everyone that you have quit smoking. Here’s a piece of very good advice: even if you accidentally/willfully take a cigarette, it is not the end of the world – you can start the cessation all over again. You must persevere with the best support until you defeat this addiction. Counseling is very useful in the initial stages and when temptations are at their highest.

I am 21 year old male and b. Tech 3year student. I am very hesitant to speak is strange problem. It's a childhood problem. Please tell me how can will be skip the problem.

Reparenting Technique, BA, BEd
Psychologist, Bangalore
It seems that you are scared to talk to people. The desire is there but the fear is crippling you. You need to meet with a counselor to deal with this fear and learn how to express the feeling as well as to reach out. Are you afraid that you may not speak well, or that your ideas are not that good, or that people will judge you, or that they will find out about how poor you are intellectually, etc? these are unnecessary dialogues you have and they are not true at all. When people are in conversation, we are listening to information and how you present the same. You are very harsh on yourself and have decided, for some reason, that you are not good enough. You may have been reprimanded in childhood for speaking or your parents may have been too strict at home. These could intimidate you when you are to speak in front of people. All these matters must be taken up with the counselor. Start talking to people at home first, particularly children, and slowly grade up to older teens and then to adults, as you build confidence. If you prepare and rehearse the conversation you are likely to have, you will do very well when you actually do it. Now there is no guarantee that whatever you prepared is going to be the exact conversation but since you are prepared most of the conversation will go according to script and the rest will be easy to handle because they will be minor deviations from the main course. You could attend the toastmasters club, and go for conversational skills courses too. Good social practice will eventually see you through. Nothing will happen, if you are passive about this. For your information public speaking is the number one fear of all mankind. Yet, people speak and appear so confident: it is because they use the fear to advantage and prepare themselves well. So you are not alone.

O I am too much depressed so kindly help me sort my problem I shall be very thankfully.
Hi, I understand your situation. I would like to know about the stress in your life in detail. whether something is making depression worse or is causing the depression. eat healthy: Don’t skip meals. Going too long between meals can make you feel irritable and tired, so aim to eat something at least every three to four hours. Minimize sugar and refined carbs. You may crave sugary snacks, baked goods, or comfort foods such as pasta or French fries, but these “feel-good” foods quickly lead to a crash in mood and energy. Focus on complex carbohydrates. Foods such as baked potatoes, whole-wheat pasta, oatmeal, and whole grain breads can boost serotonin levels without a crash. Boost your B vitamins. Deficiencies in B vitamins such as folic acid and B-12 can trigger depression. To get more, take a B-complex vitamin supplement or eat more citrus fruit, leafy greens, beans, chicken, and eggs. 2)Push yourself to do things, even when you don’t feel like it. You might be surprised at how much better you feel once you’re out in the world. Even if your depression doesn’t lift immediately, you’ll gradually feel more upbeat and energetic as you make time for fun activities. 3) Practice relaxation techniques. A daily relaxation practice can help relieve symptoms of depression, reduce stress, and boost feelings of joy and well-being. Try yoga, deep breathing, progressive muscle relaxation, or meditation. For any problem in your life which is causing stress. consult me. Don't worry you will be better. After analyzing the severity of your depression or situation, it can be clearer if you need medication or not.

I am 25 years of age and I smoke 4-5 cigarettes in a day. I have been a regular smoker since 6 years and I am unable to quit this thing. I have had reduced to 1-2 cigarettes in a day but never been able to quit completely. I have tried the anti-smoking chewing gum'Nicorette' but it didn't helped me out. Help me to get out of this.

(MRCPSYCH-UK), MD - Psychiatry, MBBS
Psychiatrist, Hyderabad
If you are an occasional smoker - with public messages, health awareness programs and your own doctors advice, you can quit. If you are a regular smoker, motivational therapy with a trained psychotherapist or a psychiatrist and enormous will power will help you quit. If you are a diseased smoker, consult a de addiction psychiatrist at the earliest. He may give you anti-smoking medications and de addiction treatment.

Good Morning Mam, I am suffering from schizophrenia (schizo obsessive disorder), so can you suggest me diet to maintain the chemical imbalance in this disease.

MD - Psychiatry
Psychiatrist, Delhi
Dear Mr. Lybrate-user I am assuming you have been diagnosed as schizo obsessive formally by a psychiatrist and on medication for the same. Please understand that the chemical imbalance in this case occurs at the level of the neurotransmitters in the brain. Currently there is no way of testing for the concentration of these neurotransmitters neither can these be affected by diet. However you must maintain a healthy balanced diet and avoid smoking or drinking.

Variety is the spice of life. All of us tend to get bored by our routines and therefore we have the concept of a weekly off and vacation. To avoid getting bored of things , do everything in moderation . Take short breaks in between eg exercise 5 days a week, or change the form of exercise - gym for 3 days, go to the park on the other 3 days and take an off on one day . Likewise for working for your dream, set monthly ,weekly and daily targets . Reward yourself whenever you are able to achieve your target . Take a break for a couple of days . You don't have to be productive 24X7.

Sir I want to know that how to improve my memory power bcs I forget some thing very early.

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician,
7 Ways to Remember Anything Research-based strategies to boost your memory and keep it strong 7 Strategies for Remembering 1.Become interested in what you're learning. We're all better remembering what interests us. Few people, for example, have a difficult time remembering the names of people they find attractive. If you're not intrinsically interested in what you're learning or trying to remember, you must find a way to become so. 2.Find a way to leverage your visual memory. You'll be surprised by how much more this will enable you to remember. For example, imagine you're at a party and are introduced to five people in quick succession. How can you quickly memorize their names? Pick out a single defining visual characteristic of each person and connect it to a visual representation of their name, preferably through an action of some kind. Remember: Memory is predominantly visual. 3.Create a mental memory tree. If you're trying to memorize a large number of facts, find a way to relate them in your mind visually with a memory tree. Construct big branches first, then leaves. Branches and leaves should carry labels that are personally meaningful to you in some way, and the organization of the facts ("leaves") should be logical. 4.Associate what you're trying to learn with what you already know. It seems the more mental connections we have to a piece of information, the more successful we'll be in remembering it. This is why using mnemonics. Write out the items to be memorized over and over and over. 5.When reading for retention, summarize each paragraph in the margin. This requires you to think about what you're reading, recycle it, and teach it to yourself again. Even take the concepts you're learning and reason forward with them; apply them to imagined novel situations, which creates more neural connections to reinforce the memory. 6.Do most of your studying in the afternoon. Though you may identify yourself as a "morning person" or "evening person" at least one Study. Suggests your ability to memorize isn't influenced as much by what time of day you perceive yourself to be most alert but by the time of day you actually study—afternoon appearing to be the best. 7.Get adequate sleep to consolidate and retain memories. Not just at night after you've studied but the day, you study as well. Far better to do this than to stay up cramming all night for an exam.

It means that he is possessively in love with you at the same time he wants you to know more about your past life, which is not a healthy one. I suggest you to have an open communication with him about your past life after receiving an agreement or promise from him that he would never talk or think about it in future and accept you as you are. Otherwise, it will act as a thorn between your relationship causing pain to both of you.
