Dear Lybrate user. I am sorry that there is no method with which you can reduce the harmful effects of your smoking. Tobacco is addictive. Cigarette also contains 4000+ carcinogenic chemicals other than nicotine. Nicotine and other chemicals can cause cancer of different types and areas. Throat cancer, mouth cancer, lung cancer, stomach cancer and brain problems can result. Over and above smoking may also increase the risk factor of heart attack and brain stroke. Please quit smoking. The best method is to leave it and continue with your will power. There are other methods like Nicotine Replacement therapy and pharmacotherapy combined. If you’re ready to stop smoking and willing to get the support you need, you can recover from nicotine addiction and abuse—no matter how bad the addiction or how powerless you feel. The first step in treating nicotine addiction is accepting that you have a problem. Confronting an addiction and accepting responsibility for your actions isn’t easy. But it’s a necessary step on the road to treatment and recovery. You should then consult a psychiatrist / psychologist who fill follow this treatment. 1. Detoxification using medicines. 2. Behavior modification with the help of therapies. 3. Counseling. 4. Medication to sustain and 5. Long term support. These given steps are essential for any addict to get effectively rid of smoking. Therefore, you need to stick to the treatment plan and cooperate with your psychiatrist / psychologist. Mind power building therapy, motivation therapy etc should help you doing so. Take care.

I eat daily tobacco pan masala from last 15 years. So I want leave that bad habit what I do?

When quitting do visit a dentist and get a thorough cleanup as a definite measure about your determination. You will feel and look fresh when you start your life without he substance. Chewing pan is really harmful especially because it is known to cause oral cancer and oral sub mucous fibrosis (SMF). Since it is an oral habit there are many substitutes that can be used to replace the oral stimulation. Of course since it is a stimulant you cannot get the same effect and that is worth the loss to give up this very addictive habit. A dense fibrous tissue is deposited in the sub mucosal layer of the soft palate and cheek, causing disabling symptoms like trismus. It contains betel nuts, tobacco, lime, catechu and permitted spices and flavors. The first four substances damage the sensitive mucosa, causing constant irritation and micro trauma to the mucosa. Chemicals present act as a toxin. The phenol in the betel nut, with its caustic burning effect, destroys the mucosa, causing oral ulcers. The betel nut also contains tannins, which act as astringents, precipitating protein and damaging the mucosa. Altogether, this substance known to be physiologically addictive. You can use replacements like nicotine chewing gum (if you want the stimulant effect, especially in the beginning) or ordinary chewing gum, hard candy and any other orally satiating substance, especially when the urge is very strong. You would have got conditioned to the habit to different times of the day and different situations. You must particularly avoid those occasions and occupy yourself with something else attractive. You should get into regular exercise, eat healthily, and get a good night’s rest every day. Visit a dentist and clean up your teeth and gums to wipe out all the reminders and damages of the habit. You may also get a thorough oral check up and treatment for any damages incurred.

Dear lybrate-user, most people having anxiety attacks experiencing a considerable amount of stress, but not necessarily, and the attack doesn't necessarily occur when that person is experiencing the most stress either. Usually an anxiety attack begin because someone notice some feeling in their body. This is when your mind (unconsciously) monitors your body. Most of the time this attack is associated with self health issues. It includes, rapid heartbeat, chest pain, lightheadedness, difficulty breathing, trouble focusing, weakness, pain, trouble with balance. These all are starting of the attack. It gets worse as it progresses. You can stop it by distracting the attention of that person.

Hello sir , First of all I tell you my previous exprience I got molloscum contragiscum on mg pennies I consult the doctor and he remove all pimple on my pennies and he write 3 test 1.) HIV ELISE test and I got 0.46 negative in december end I thik 30st dec. 2.) TPHA test also same result non reactive 3.) I think not sure infection test to find the grad of virus but also same result. My problem is that I do unprotected sex in May starting and I got pimple I think october middle and november starting and also I do unprotected sex in november 2014. And come on present day. I suffering rash and aching on my body december end and not small rash it bigg rashes and I got again two pimple on my pennies thay look like mollocscum contagiscumanf my immune system is also weak so it is possible hiv is play the role tell me in detail I am in depression totally and please sir snd me your number for I consult you but in delhi. please some body tell I safe and I am not come under hiv.

molluscum contagiosum is a skin infection cause d by a virus called molluscum contagioepsum virus produces benign raised lesions or bumps on the upper layer of the skin they disappear on their own and rarely leave dpscar when they are left untreated, but the bumps can last from two months to four years. the MC is spread by direct contact with the lesion of an infected person by contact with a contaminated objects such as towelbor piece of clothing. Zthe virus can be more difficult to treat if have a weakened immune system .have homemade freshly prepared lemon juice which is rich in vitamin C thereby increasing your body autoimmune system which prevents infection.

Hello, I am 25 year old and have stammering problem which is now causing serious psychological problems. I have lost interest in almost every thing, meeting with friends social places. I have started feeling that I would not be able to any thing in my career. When ever I do self reading it is fluent but when I speak in front of public my hands and legs start trembling heavily, my heartbeat and breathing rate heavily. Even small work seems like a heavy task for me. I don't know how would I match up in this competitive time, weather I would get any job or not. My mind is always engulfed with all these negative thoughts which is causing severe stress in me. I am skeptical about medication provided by psychologist thats why I have not consulted any doctor yet. Please help.

Good ​Evening, Stammering is not an uncommon problems and if left untreated since childhood may cause significant health problems. I am sorry you are having to deal with the distressing situations that you have mentioned and more importantly that it has started to affect your career. Although, most of the stammering problems are related to anxiety some of them are related to organic causes in the larynx. However, since psychological issues are a greater causative factor for the problem of stammering it can be very effectively treated with psychotherapy or counseling and medications, a combination of which is better then either of them alone. I believe stammering if not treated may also lead to depression which will also improve as the stammering improves and you can lead a competitive and healthy life. I am sorry to hear about your friend. An untimely and sudden death is extremely traumatic for the survivors. It must have been very difficult for you to bear the shock of your friend's sudden death in the accident. Give yourself more time to come out of this trauma. At the same time please understand that no one has control over" death" mostly it is seen that a person who is destined to die, dies somehow and another person may live a long life in spite of many odds. So it appears to be more of destiny or a chance whatever you may call it. You friend probably had to die. You may try to explore the meaning of death and/or what happens after death, as per your belief, you may find some solace there. Right now, try to meet other friends, and try to follow your usual routine. Your life will never be the same again but you have life ahead. Try to remember the good times you shared with your friend. Share your sorrow with his family and other close friends. Together, you all will find support in each other. Take care.

I am in a very strange situation. I am getting lot of love from my bf but we have trust issues. My bf doubts that I am in relation with my friend and calls me my ex. He keeps blaming me about him. He says that my friend comes online only when I am not talking to my bf. I got vexed up with this an d broke all contacts with my friend for my bf. I never tried to contact my friend again. I thought that issues gets settled after this. But my bf still blames that I am in contact with my friend. whenever we are not in contact, he always doubts that I am with my friend. I tried to make him clear on this many times but he is not believing me. I thought to check my friends online status and saved his number on my mobile just to check his online status. One day his number is not getting deleted, So I had to uninstall whats app before my bf came to my place. When I asked my friend to send whats app app to me, my bf heard that and starts doubting me more. I thought that it is nt possible for my friend to come online every time when I am not talking to my bf. But that app is just killing me. whenever my bf is not talking with me. He is getting notification that my friend is online and according to my bf. I message my bf only when my friend goes offline. Things have gone worsened day by day. So I contacted my friend and told him about my problem. My friend asked me to leave my bf as he does not trust me. But I did not agree to that. Later I deleted my call loggs in my fon regarding my conversation with my friend, thinking that my bf will doubt more. But My bf is too intelligent that he checked true caller and identified that I talked to my friend. At that time my friend gave another number of his classmate so that I can call him if his network was not good. My bf noted that number also. Also, my friend has a gf whose number I gave to my bf. But he says that my friend and his gf never came online together. Later my bf started saying that number is also my friend's and that he is maintaining two numbers for me. Recently his classmate created whats app and my bf started abusing me that this number is also my friend's and he is maintaining 3 numbers for me. whenever one person in those three numbers comes online when I am not in contact with my bf. He starts abusing me very badly calling me a prostitute and a bitch. When I am not working, I used to spend onm skype whole day with my bf so that he does not doubt me. Even then when I used to go for wash room or drinking water, my bf used to doubt me. Now I have started working and now it is impossible to talk to him on skype all day. He thinks that I am having another phone which I uses only to contact my friend which is not true. Because of this in stopped going out and stay on skype whole day until I sleep. Now he started abusing that my friend comes online only after I get up and talks to me. When I am talking to him on for also, my bf thinks that i am chatting with my friend. Now a days he is blaming that I am chatting with my friend even when I am chatting with my bf. Continued in next question.

I think" trust" is a huge concern here. I sense that you are not happy with this relationship. But you are thinking that you are getting lots of love from your bf. I would suggest you to think more about it, do you really feel loved" love" - is freedom, respect, and taking care. Are you getting all this? please also think, for your own benefit, that what is the reason, that you are continuing in such emotionally abusive relationship? it appears that your bf is treating you like a weakling and you are submitting yourself to his demands. Another thing is, you are aware that your bf does not like you to maintain contact with your other friend, but you are still in touch with him. You need to decide which relationship is more important for you. Also please think about how will you manage in future with your bf if he is so suspicious? please think rationally, take someone's advice and then take decision to maintain that relation, which will not harm your present and future.

You have to quit cold turkey because the body and mind will torture you endlessly while attempting reduction in smoking. The tobacco tar in cigarette smoke lines your lung with huge patches that make that portion dysfunctional. Your oxygen carrying capacity is jeopardized, and breathing is impinged. But don’t be discouraged because it is not too late even now to reverse all the ill-effects of smoking. I don’t know what other organs could be damaged but do go for a thorough medical check up to assess the effects of your abuse. Regarding improving your lungs, do a lot of aerobic exercise breathing through your nostrils only. Then there are a lot of deep breathing exercises in Yoga which you can learn too. Deep breathing cleanses your system and lungs and restores it to good health. Deep breathing uses the 80% of the lungs which are not normally used in normal breathing and even when exerting yourself. The greatest effect is in the lungs because this substance is processed through the respiratory system directly through the lung surface. When quitting, you must take one day at a time; though you must give up all smoking at once, and promptly. If you look too far ahead you will get discouraged and will give up. If you sit and count the number of days you have given up, that will also focus too much on achievement. You must focus on the here and now, on that day to be precise. After all quitting is not that easy due to many factors. So even if you fail one day, you must try and try again. Very few people succeed in their first attempt. Your persistence will eventually pay off. The urge to discontinue is hampered by many factors but the worst of them is the conditioning. In fact these conditions can exist all through the day unlike other addictions. But your desire to want to stop is the most important factor. It is important to find out about the ill-effects of smoking to have a reason that alarms you about continuing in the habit. The information is really scary but true and you must remind yourself about this every day. The nicotine in tobacco smoke stimulates the heart beat to raise the blood pressure in no time at all. So you must avoid it like the plague: it is just very bad medicine for you. In fact it is highly toxic too. You will need to stop smoking or consuming any tobacco related items with immediate effect. You should start vigorous exercises, gradually increasing it over a period of time. Do deep breathing exercises every time you feel like smoking (try Yoga), and replace the oral urge with some healthy food substitute to satiate the need. You may also take hard candy or chewing gum. If the urge is too strong, then use nicotine gums and nicotine patches, for a little while until the smoking drive reduces, substantially. You may also join Smokers Anonymous in your city where the support is really extraordinary for like-minded people who are also in the same situation. Keep yourself occupied or engaged with interesting activities during the times when it is most tempting. Keep the company of non-smokers for some time i.e. at least for the first 21 days. Above all announce it to everyone that you have quit smoking. Here’s a piece of very good advice: even if you accidentally/willfully take a cigarette, it is not the end of the world – you can start the cessation all over again. You must persevere with the best support until you defeat this addiction. Counseling is very useful in the initial stages and when temptations are at their highest.

There is no need to be alarmed to this extent but you do need to develop some control over these desires because if left unattended and if you indulge in it, you may feed into impulses where you may one day lose control. Between the ages of 16 to 18 years, for a duration of almost exactly two years, all boys and girls will have a spurt in the production of the male sex hormone, testosterone. Due to this hormone there are three identified effects, all because of this chemical: you will become sexually active; you will become aggressive and rebellious; and you will all suffer acne and pimple problems. You have no choice because this is a body clock mechanism that gets activated and over the two years that it prevails, it will gradually subside and return to normal. But during this time you could (driven by the hormones) do something inadvertent that there may be no turning the clock back. So you need to exercise control and channelize this energy through games and sports and hobbies. Also, you would have developed secondary sexual characteristics and they seek to be used and seek fulfillment. Again this is not a problem but the drive can be very bad for those who do not have sufficiently well-developed value systems or a good conscience. These kids can lose control and become reckless. Most kids have a problem, like you do, around their sexual urges and may resort to acting out in the form of masturbation, pornography, and other sexual exploits. If you indulge in any of these you can get into a guilt trip or develop an addiction that may plague you for a long time. There is no threat to your mental well being. Your character will certainly be tested, and it will reflect your development in this regard. The best thing to do is to get a sex education from a counselor and ask all the questions you wish answered. Otherwise, you will want to experiment or seek information from your peers who are not adequately qualified to really do justice to your queries.
