Wait till 20th Apr. Do the home pregnancy test. If negative, repeat it after 7 days. If still negative, you can assume she isn't pregnant and take prescription medicines to get the periods.

Hi Doctor, I have one failed ivf with 3 frozen transfers with PGD normal embryos. On Consulting another doctor they said I have focal and diffused Adenomyosis because of which The first ivf would have failed. My question what is the treatment option available in allopathy or homeopathy to treat adenomyosis before my next ivf. My doctor has done EGG retrieval now FOR SECOND IVF and have frozen eggs and have told me to take decapeptyl injection for 3 months and then immediately transfer embryos. Is this treatment successful and is right? Or there are better options available. Are there chances I conceive ,I have got 3 day 3 embryos (2 are good quality and one is average quality embryo)

Visiting A Gastroenterologist: Tips For You To Take Care Of

MBBS, MD - Internal Medicine , DM - Gastroenterology
Gastroenterologist, Bangalore
Visiting A Gastroenterologist: Tips For You To Take Care Of

A Gastroenterologist is a physician with dedicated training and unique experience in the management of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and liver. If you are planning to visit one, you most likely have a problem in one or many organs like esophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon and rectum, pancreas, gallbladder, bile ducts and liver.

Visit your doctor to understand the severity of your condition and the course of treatment, as it is obvious that during this time you must be suffering from anxiety and you may not ask the questions arising in your mind. That is why you need to prepare in advance for your first visit with a gastroenterologist.

Being an active partner in the doctor patient relationship is bound to have its benefits. Here are some handy tips:

  1. Come mentally prepared: Don't let the anxiety get to you. If you need some extra help calming down, try yoga or meditation. You can simply go out on a walk alone to help you focus your thoughts. This is just like any other doctor visit. The good part is that you are taking the first step in easing your discomfort and starting treatment, so go with a positive mind.
  2. Maintain a diary of symptoms: It is likely that you are experiencing discomfort from past few days or weeks before you finally realize the need to seek out a specialist. Try to remember as much as possible about the symptoms you experienced in a chronological order. Write down any over the counter medicines you've tried or anything unusual that you may have consumed in the past week.
  3. Take stock of your medical history: It is likely that your doctor may want to know about any historic conditions you've suffered that may or may not relate to your present condition. Many ask you to fill out forms during your first time patient registration which includes many minor details about your medical past. List down any allergies, especially food allergies you have.
  4. Take stock of your recent medical tests: Bring your latest blood tests and imaging tests (X-rays, ultrasounds, MRIs, and CT scans) with you for the doctor's visit. If you have a pre-existing condition like diabetes, thyroid or you suffer from other chronic conditions like increased uric acid, carry your most recent medical reports with you.
  5. Make a list of questions for the doctor: In most cases, the first visit is a crucial factor in determining whether you want to continue the course of treatment with a particular doctor. This comes out of your ability to trust the doctor, his knowledge and diagnosis and an overall comfort level that comes with how well he handles your questions. Start by making a list of questions you want to ask about your specific condition and course of treatment and see if you get satisfactory answers.
  6. Brace yourself: If you want to suggest a treatment option, make sure you read up all about it before you tell the doctor. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Gastroenterologist.

My wife has seven month pregnancy. She having cough and cold. What is doing in it?
If it is coming with fever she will need a safe antibiotic. If the cough is dry and severe and giving breathing problems, then also best to use a good antibiotic for 5 days. Otherwise, simple cough suppressants and anti-histaminics may suffice. Keep the neck region covered. Warm saline gargles. Lots of fluids in diet.

6 Pregnancy Complications You Need to Know About

6 pregnancy complications you need to know about

The biggest wish of a to be mother's mind is a smooth and safe pregnancy. One of the ways you can deliver your baby safely is by being aware of the complications that may arise during this period and taking precautionary measures to reduce your chances of developing them.

Here are the 6 pregnancy complications that you need to know about?

1. Preeclampsia

Preeclampsia is a condition that normally occurs after the 20th week and is characterized by high blood pressure, kidney abnormalities and the presence of protein in your urine. Most of the time, symptoms are mild, which can be easily resolved with proper care. But the condition can progress quickly, causing several of your organs to not function properly and even proving to be life-threatening.

2. Gestational diabetes

Gestational diabetes happens when hormonal changes during this period hamper your body's use of insulin. As a consequence, the insulin hormone is unable to normalize blood sugar levels, leading to abnormally high blood sugar levels. While the condition is not usually a cause of concern for the mother, it can pose several health problems for the baby, more specifically, the occurrence of macrosomia (a condition wherein the baby has an abnormal body weight).

3. Premature labor

You're said to suffer from premature labor or preterm labor if you experience regular contractions that lead to your cervix dilating and effacing before the 37th week. Preterm birth can prove dangerous for the baby, not to mention make it prone to several health problems. In order for it stay alive and be healthy, you child needs to reach its full maturity before birth.

4. Ectopic pregnancy

When the fetus develops outside the womb, more specifically in the fallopian tube, a condition known as ectopic pregnancy is said to occur. It is highly important to put a stop to this pregnancy complication as it the developing embryo might bring about the rupturing of the fallopian tube, and may result in internal bleeding.

5. Placenta previa

The condition of placenta previa sees your placenta occupying a very low position in the uterus, most commonly, adjacent to or over your cervix. If the placenta continues to be at this position during the whole course of the pregnancy, it can lead to bleeding as well as other complications.

6. Low amniotic fluid

It is the fluid-filled amniotic sac that supports and protects your baby in the womb. It is said that about 4% of pregnant women worldwide experience low amniotic fluid levels during their pregnancy. This condition is also known as oligohydramnios. When this happens, labor is usually induced as you come close to the end of your pregnancy.

Not conceiving depends on lot of factor age, hormonal profile, ovulation, semen, uterine health, stress, diet, etc. Etc, sometimes there is no cause known as unexplained infertility. You should get amh, fsh & antral follicle count test of you done to find out your ovarian reserve. Iui is intrauterine insemination i. E. In this process you will be given some medicine for egg to grow and ultrasound will be done to see the growth of eggs on the day egg matures, your husband's semen will be injected into your uterus after processing in machines. In this process the success rate will be more than naturally. Considering your age and investigation you should go for iui, as with the advancing age egg no & quality reduces, and other complication may develop. Best conception days are ovulation days, where the chances of conception is maximum. It varies from women to women depending on her cycle. Generally it is mid cycle days any food you can take, take diet rich in green vegetables, fruits, dairy products, whole grains. Quit coffee, fried, oily, canned food for both partners.
