A-around 15% of pregnancies gets miscarried, that is nature's rule. You should avoid next pregnancy for 6 months from the last abortion. Chances of repeat abortion or pretem delivery increases if one becomes pregnant within 6 months of miscarriage. Also if abortion/ miscarriage was caused by any viral infection, then it will get cured automatically within 3 months time. Use contraception for 6 months. Best one to use are oral contraceptive pills. No special treatment or tests are needed if you had only one miscarriage or spontaneous abortion. No bed rest needed for the miscarriage for more than a week.

Male Infertility : Explained

The causes and treatment of male infertility

Hello viewers. I am Doctor Rahul Reddy from Androcare Andrology Institute. I am microsurgical Andrologist. Today I am going to discuss about male infertility problems. Why a patient a male patient with low sperm count has to go for ICSI procedure. So there is treatment for male infertility. At least 40% of the patients without any major treatment, they can improve. And another 30% of patients with minimal procedure, they can come back to normalcy. The reason for sperm count going down is Lifestyle issues, hormonal imbalance and obstructions, because of the infections and prosthetic and seminal vesicle infections. What happens in Lifestyle, we don't sleep properly, we don't do workouts, the testosterone will go down.

When testosterone goes down it suppress the sperm count, the ejaculate volume the semen volume will go down and the penetrating capacity of the sperm is also low when your testosterone is low. So we have to change your lifestyle to improve our sperm count. Second common cause for a low sperm count is infections. A male genital tract if you understand that there is testis and there is a sperm tube and from the sperm tube there is a small cement reservoir which is called seminal vesicle and from there whenever a male ejaculate, the semen comes out into the urine passage then it comes out. So in these practice in this complete track wherever there is infection sperm can get affected so whenever we see a patient with low motility the common cause is epididymal infection and these are easily treatable.

So if you start treatment in early days we can completely make this patient normal. The third part is the semen tube. If the semen tube is blocked then it is difficult to treat. The fourth part is the semen reservoir. Why we call it a seminal vesicle? The prostate and seminal vesicle, they produce the white colour fruit which is in the semen. So most of the times we see patients has zero sperm count but he ejaculate. But what they ejaculate is the fluid from the prostate or seminal vesicle which is where there is no sperm inside. So this sperm tube is directly connected to your urine Pathways and the seminal vesicle with the semen reservoir is closely associated with the rectum which is a motion pipe.

So what happens is if there is a infection in urine pipe? This infection can enter the prostate or seminal vesicle and then it can cause severe infection. But why I say severe infections because these most of these infections are silent infections. If you know that there is an infection or there is any pain you can go to doctor. You will go to your doctor and get it treated but most of the time these infections are silent. Whenever a patient comes to us with low sperm count, then we do Semen analysis, we do semen culture, we find out what the kind of infection they have, kind of the bacteria they have and then we have to start treating these patients but only catch in these patients is they need long-term antibiotics and unlike urinary tract infections. So generally in urinary tract will give antibiotics for four five days but inseam infections you need antibiotics for 15 to 20 days. So don't get worried about male infertility. Nowadays 80%, up to 80% of patients with male infertility they can have normal count, normal improvement.

So if you have low sperm count go and see your local urologisy and he will help you in this matter. If you are not getting result you can reach me on lybrate.

Almonds Vs. Walnuts: Which Nut Has More Benefits?

Almonds Vs. Walnuts: Which Nut Has More Benefits?

Whenever you peruse through snack options in a store, looking for a fulfilling yet healthy option, it often turns out to be really challenging. This is where you might consider nuts, such as almonds or walnuts to fulfill your hunger. They both are quite healthy snacking options with rich reserves of protein, fibre, and energy.

However, given the choice between almonds and walnuts, there are certain things which need to be kept in mind.

  • Energy content: Almonds contain 14 grams worth of fat, and 164 calories whereas, walnuts contain approximately 18 grams of fat but give 185 calories. Thus, we find that walnuts contain a slightly higher amount of fat than almonds, but provide more energy in the form of calories.
  • Protein content: Almonds and walnuts are both protein powerhouses - containing 13% and 9% of protein content respectively. Thus, both these nuts are great sources of protein.
  • Mineral content: Both almonds and walnuts are rich in various kinds of minerals. When it comes to Iron, which is essential for muscle health and blood formation, both nuts contain very similar amounts (approx 5%). Almonds pack 19% magnesium, essential for strong bones, compared to the 11% in walnuts. Walnuts, however, have very high amount of copper (50%) and manganese (54%) which prove to be useful in reducing symptoms of PMS as compared to almonds.
  • Fibre content: Fiber, which plays a vital role in completing the process of digestion, is another component that these nuts pack healthy amounts of. Almonds contain 16% fiber whereas walnuts have 8%.
  • Vitamin content: While walnuts contain 12% Vitamin B6, compared to the 3% in almonds, the real point of difference between these two highly healthy nuts is in their content of Vitamin E essential for healthy skin and eyes. Almonds contain almost 48% of it, whereas walnuts contain only about 2% of the same.

Thus, we get a fair idea about the high nutritional content for both these nuts. They are both essential, especially if they can be incorporated into our diets in the correct proportions. If you wish to discuss any specific problem, you can consult a Dietitian/Nutritionist.

Sir she said that her last two menstrual dates are 1st january and 3rd February and she is expecting that her next menstrual date will may be 5th march. Sir she said that her last two menstrual dates are 1st january and 3rd February and she is expecting that her next me...
If a women’s menstrual cycle varies from 26days to 31days cycle, The shortest cycle (26days) minus18days=8th day. The longest cycle (31days) minus 10days=21st day Thus, 8th to 21st day of each cycle counting from first day of menstrual period is considered as fertile period. That is UNSAFE PERIOD. Period other than this fertile period in a menstrual cycle is considered as SAFE PERIOD.

" There is always risk in unprotected sex and unknown partner" said by a doctor. May I know the symptoms of diseases that i can face and how to avoid the symptoms? Partner is married and I am a 18.

MBBS, MD Psychiatry, DNB Psychiatry

If your so called married partner is affected with diseases, you may also have the same upon having unprotected sex with her. Symptoms depend upon the disease she has. Diseases range from gonorrhea, fungal infections, syphilis or even aids. These diseases are difficult to be identified upon symptoms only and need blood investigations.

This should be considered as a normal menses. Sometimes because of stress and hormonal changes, menstrual flow can reduce. I can see there is some weight gain, which is likely to be the reason for less menstrual flow. Control ur weight as it can affect ur childbearing. It can all be associated with PCOD, which can be diagnosed with the ultrasound.

Gestational Diabetes

Here are cause, symptoms , and treatments of Gestational Diabetes

Hello I’m Dr. Neeti Agarwal I’m senior endocrinologist at Indus Health and she is our dietitian Monica Roman.

Gestational diabetes is diabetes which develops during pregnancy. Who is likely to develop gestational diabetes? One who has a family history of diabetes in first-degree relatives, somebody who has had gestational diabetes in previous pregnancy, somebody who has a history of having giving birth to a large size baby or somebody who is obese.

Now why it is important? because of the problems associated with gestational diabetes in both mother and the child the mother is likely to develop hypertension also the mother is likely to have bleeding problems during the delivery. There is increased likelihood of developing suzerain sections and later post-delivery the mother is likely to develop diabetes. The child who was born there is likelihood of developing obesity and diabetes later in life, if the mother has gestational diabetes early in pregnancy . There is likelihood of developing structural abnormalities of the heart and the nervous system in the child so it is very important to diagnose and manage gestational diabetes by the diagnosis which is done by simple blood glucose testing which should be done.

Diet is very important and exercise as advised by the gynecologist is important medication there are very few medications that we can give during pregnancy so therefore our treatment mainly relies on insulin therapy therefore we focus on diet. So to talk about diet during pregnancy, I invite Monica ma’am. Hello friends there are some basic dos and don’ts which we have to keep in our mind. During the gestational diabetes take your meal on time take small and frequent meals eat whole fruit instead of fruit juices include high fiber foods in your diet. Do regular physical activities for 40-45 minutes for day. Choose food with low food with low glycemic index 24 bit low glycemic index. Cut down saturated fats like butter, ghee and cheese from your diet. Monitor your blood sugar levels daily and cut down sugary products and redid drinks.

So if you have gestational diabetes all you need to know or consult regarding gestational diabetes you can reach us on Lybrate.

Hangover - 4 Hacks For You

Hangover - 4 Hacks For You

Most people experience prominent side effects on their body and mind the morning following a night of heavy drinking. These after-effects of consuming excessive alcohol, popularly called a hangover, include rapid heartbeat, headache, anxiety, exhaustion, vomiting, dizziness, lack of energy, and body pain.

Drinking too much alcohol (5 to 7 drinks for men and 3 to 5 for women) not only causes a hangover but also can negatively impact your health by damaging your liver, central nervous system, brain and gastrointestinal system. It takes about 8 to 24 hours to cure a hangover completely, but you can try these natural remedies to get quick relief from the symptoms and reduce the recovery time.

1. Have a banana

A hangover is often associated with decreased potassium levels in your body and having a banana will help replenish it as it contains an adequate amount of the mineral.

Directions: you can either have one or two whole bananas or a banana smoothie with few drops of honey to get relieve from most hangover symptoms.

2. Try honey

Honey contains fructose, which helps to neutralize the negative impact of alcohol on your body. Moreover, honey provides relief from the hangover as it also helps digest the alcohol better.

Directions: take 3-4 teaspoons of honey after each hour (post-hangover) till you feel yourself getting better. You can increase the dosage according to the severity of your hangover.

3. Go for a glass of tomato juice

Tomato juice proves to be very effective in curbing the symptoms of a hangover as it compensates for the dehydration caused in your body due to excessive alcohol consumption. Also, due to its fructose content, tomato helps in metabolizing the alcohol present in your body.

Directions: drink a glass of fresh tomato juice or soup laden with 1 tablespoon each of honey and fresh lemon juice. You can have this juice in the morning once and repeat in the afternoon if needed.

4. Drink a lot of water

When it comes to beating a hangover, there is no substitute for water. Drinking water is not only a tried and tested remedy, but is also the most effective way to cure a hangover. This happens because water fights the dehydration of fluids in your body caused by drinking alcohol.

Directions: to keep the hangover at bay, drink one glass of water after each glass or shot of alcohol you consume. If you forget to do this, starting your day with a bottle of water the next morning will help reduce hangover symptoms drastically. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Dietitian/Nutritionist.
