My wife is 55 years old. her echo cardiogram report is normal. Her ecg report speaks of STT changes, for which the doctor here told me to get a street Test, modified done. The stress test has come positive - it speaks of "significant ST segment depression over and above basal changes in exercise and early recovery, reverting to basal at the end of recovery" and concludes saying "stress test positive for inducible ischaemia by ST criteria, this could represent a false positive in view of baseline abnormality. Suggested clinical correlation and further evaluation as clinically appropriate" my doctor says that she is otherwise asymptomatic, with normal bp, triglycerides, non diabetic, no chest pain, no breathlessness, no palpitation, and may be because of baseline issues. But he has suggested for a ct scan coronary angiogram. I would like to know whether is angio is necessary, as I would not otherwise have liked to expose her to 64 radiation hazards, if avoidable. Please advise. Please tell me the charges and the digital payment path.

Dear Angiogram may show blocks. But she has no complaints. Noting blocks at this age is seen in majority people and a aging change. Best would be stress thallium myocardial scan. This can show a sub millimeter stress ischemia and is totally non invasive safe procedure. If comes positive then Ayurvedic medicines can reverse it. If negative just enjoy

I am 22 year old. My sister have BP low always. please tell us what precautions she has to take?

BHMS
Homeopath, Raebareli
Salt water helps treat low blood pressure because the sodium in salt increases blood pressure. Do not overdo this remedy though, as excess salt can prove to be unhealthy. Simply mix one-half teaspoon of salt in a glass of water and drink it. You can also drink sports beverages. Raw beetroot juice is helpful in dealing with high as well as low blood pressure. For hypotension, drink a cup of beetroot juice twice daily for about one week. Other natural fruit juices are also considered helpful in this regard.

How we can stop the medicine of hypertension. It is possible or not. Or is it a life time medicine.

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
Myself is a homoeopath and according to me everybody should be aware and consious about his health and harmful effects of long term medication on our body.Medicines are always for the time being and should be discontinued once our condition is normal with certain exceptions like diabetes, chronic heart diseases, etc to name a few.Hypertension is a symptom of an underlying problem and instead of treating underlined cause we start taking BP medicines thus suppressing it daily and our underlying problem either remains the same or start increasing unknowingly .We go on increasing the dose of BP without knowing that our BP increases not due to exhaustion of effect of previous BP medicine but the underlying problem had increased and one day it proves fatal for life. But who cares, this is the problem of indian medicinal system,no regulation,no doctor-Patient interactions.Just see your own example,at 35 you are taking medicines for BP and this is just the middle of second phase of your life.Just adopt natiropathy in your life. Our kitchen is full of natural ingridients. The question is who will guide .Myself is a homoeopathand I advise you to start homoeopathic medicines along with for your BP problem and slowly start reducing the allopathic dose of BP medicine while taking homoeo medicine and once allopathic medicine is out of your life,we can slowly reduce dose of homoeo medicine and ultimately stop it.I mean to say that rather than taking the prescribed medicines blindly, start using natural resources that God has gifted us.It will be beneficial for our future generations also,

Alternative Medicine Specialist, Bhubaneswar
Hi lybrate-user, I appreciate you seeking help. First and foremost, I would advise you to consult a medical practitioner (allopathic or alternative medicine) for a clinical evaluation, assessment and treatment thereof. You may require to control the same through BP medications should it be an essential hypertension with no specific cause (idiopathic). Should it be secondary, underlying cause, if any, needs to be understood and remedied appropriately to control the rise in BP. Simultaneously, following are a few remedies that you can additionally try to control your hypertension - (a) Restrict salt. Sweets, greasy, oily, fatty and high calorie foods including fast foods are best avoided. (b) Take fennel seeds (1 tsp) post meals. Also, have a clove of fresh garlic twice daily (after food). (c) Streamline your diet & lifestyle. Take a Mediterranean diet mostly. Fresh cold water fish prepared in extra virgin olive oil can be consumed twice a week. In case you are a vegetarian, you may take omega-3 supplements daily. (d) Exercise for at least 30 minutes on a daily basis, walking being the safest. Daily de-stressing and relaxation either through yoga, meditation, listening to soothing music, socializing etc all should be part of the daily routine. (e) Realistic plan your day to day activities, and execute them one by one seamlessly. Avoid a burnout by all means. (f) Try having an uninterrupted & sound sleep of at least 7 - 8 hours on a daily basis. Your bedroom should be kept dark. Try avoiding night bulbs as they are likely to interfere with quality of sleep. Should you have difficulty falling asleep, take medical help immediately. Hope this helps. Do take care and all the very best. Sincerely
