Quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain.

I am suffering from sciatica pain last 8 weeks I take some pain killers but some time little pain occurred in my hip. So what should I do. Please refer me some exercise.

MSc in Orhopedic Physiotherapy (UK), BPTh/BPT
Physiotherapist, Bangalore
To manage new sciatica pain, you may find that certain positions and activities are more comfortable than others. The proper exercises from a physiotherapist will help reduce sciatic pain. The exercises recommended will depend on what's causing the sciatica. It's important to work with a specialist who has experience working with people with sciatica. It's also important to do the exercises exactly as directed. Here are some home treatments for sciatica which you can follow: -do not bend, lift, or sit in a soft, low chair; the pain will get worse. -try a cold pack to see if it helps the pain. If you don't have a cold pack, use a large bag of frozen vegetables; it makes a good first aid cold pack. -after the cold massages, try alternating with heat from hot bag. -you may feel better lying on your back on a firm surface with a pillow under knees. Another option is lying on side with a pillow between the knees to keep the back straight. Also, a recliner chair is helpful. -do activities that you are able to tolerate. Best wishes.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You have mentioned that your back pain started after you sustained a lower back injury. I would also like to ask you if it is associated with any leg pain or any other neurological symptoms like numbness, paraesthesias (electrical shock like abnormal sensations) or any weakness in limbs. Please also tell me about any associated symptoms like fever, weight loss etc. What medications you generally take and what has been your treatment history till now for existing problem. It will be beneficial if you can send me your x rays so that I can see and advise accordingly. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. It could be due to cervical spondylosis this is quite a common condition rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Use no pillow under the head. Any way take ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days do neck & back (spine) exercises contact me again if need be. Use of cervical collar will give you relief. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take you will need other supportive medicines also. I'm a medical student. Since the last two-three weeks or so I have a mild back ache in my lower back especially on flexion of the back. It all started as a minor ache on waking up one morning but relieved on its own in the initial few days but then since last two three weeks or so it does not go away even after a diclofenac spray over the area. Also since childhood I had a habit of sleeping with my back curled but since a few months i've been trying to sleep straight. Is it related to that.

The most common reasons your feet might be hurting after a day of walking are swelling, cramps, and blisters. And there's nothing unusual about some foot pain after standing on your feet for an extended amount of time. If you don't walk regularly and one day you decide to go on a 5-mile walk through the woods, odds are you're going to experience some foot pain later that day. If you're asking" why do my feet hurt in the morning, it might mean you're body isn't quite use to the amount of exercise. But the more you walk, the easier it will feel on your feet. Still if you are facing problem go for constitutional homoeopathic treatment for complete cure.
