Dear you can easily gain weight and get a healthy body by following these best things - 1. To gain weight, your digestion should work properly for proper digestion - take 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper (kali mirch), 1/ 2 tea spoon of jeera (cumin), 2-3 slice of ginger. Boil it in one glass of water for 2-3 minutes. Drink 5-10 teaspoons (15-20 ml) in morning and evening for strong digestive system. 2. Take a diet rich with proteins and fats. You should take high calorie food that increase your muscle mass and induce growth in bones. Diet chart. Follow it in your daily life to fastly gain weight * in morning, take a glass of milk added with 2 teaspoons of protein powder with breakfast. * in lunch time, take 1 bowl of curd or 100 gm of cheese, a bowl of vegetable, with chapattis. * in evening, take 1 glass of milk (300 ml) with 2 bananas. * in night, take a bowl of careals (daal, a bowl of salad with chapattis. 3. In morning, get up early and take awalk for 10-15 minutes and exercise light weight exercises for at least 30 minutes at home or gym. 4. For proper weight, proper sleep is very important. So you should sleep for 6-8 hours daily. 5. Avoid soft drinks, western fast food (burgers, french fries, pizza etc. They disturb your digestion. Follow these exercises regularly and you get the goal of height gain: * first stand straight bare foot on floor, then raise your arms upwards then raise your heels of foot with breathing in, try to stand on heels for 10-12 seconds and slowlylower down your heels back on the floor and breath outthe air. Repeat this exercise 5-8 times in morning. *sit on the floor, stretch you legs together so that both foot touch each other. Now raise your arms upwards together with back straight, now move your hands towardstoes of feet and touch them. Your forehead touching your knees. Slowly revert back the arms and move back arms in normal position. Repeat this exercise 2-4 times daily.

Your dad has been an athlete in his early life. That is really commendable. What was his reason to stop body building. At any age one can do body building. It is extremely beneficial for older people because as one ages they lose their muscles (it is a natural process called sarcopenia) so it is all the more necessary for older people to weight train to prevent muscle loss. More the muscles, stronger you are and fitter you are. Body fat also lowers as muscles are the most metabolically active tissues in your body. If there has been a gap, then your dad needs to start from the beginners level and gradually move towards advanced levels. Along with weight lifting he needs to follow a clean nutrition program to perform better in all aspects of life.

There is no such medicine. Make it a habbit to drink water, tea, coffee or lassi whatever you like at least every 4hrly. It may be due to winters. All r facing this problem.

Bananas are full of calories and contain high amount of carbohydrates and potassium that give you instant energy. Whosoever want to gain weight must eat a banana daily in the morning with a glass of warm milk. Add a teaspoon of sugar in it. Moreover, you can also have it after your meals.

You need to start eating high protein and good quality fat. Include lots of paneer, whole pulses, soya, dals, curds and milk. If you are non vegetarian include eggs, chicken and fish thrice in a week. Start exercising which helps you increase bmr and hunger.

Dear user. I can understand. There are no such short cuts with which you can reduce your belly fat by one inch within ten days. That is asking for too much. Physical exercise and dieting with non fatty food can help reduce your belly fat. Do not misinterpret dieting as going without food. You can consult a dietitian for this. Take care.

dear lybrate user, weight loss can be achieved with Ayurvedic Medication, Panchakarma treatment, Diet Schedule and exercise. weight reduction is very simple process though it should be followed for 6 to 8 months for good result. follow this diet for reducing weight. “ Weight loss : Diet ” 1. Morning: half cup of tea/ milk/ coffee. 2. For breakfast: pohe, uppit, paratha, rawa dosa, thalipith, etc. in small quantity. 3. Milk products should be avoided: butter, paneer, cheese, meethai etc. 4. Fermented food should be avoided: idli, dosa, uttappa etc. 5. Tea should not be consumed more than half cup and 2 times day. 6. Lunch: one chapatti of wheat with any of the following vegetable. Vegetables: Snake gourd, ladys finger, cauliflower, cabbage, bottle gourd, red pumpkin, ash gourd, cluster beans, drumstic, green peas, radish etc. Rice should be taken only once a day, in half of the current quantity. 7. Evening: half cup of tea/ milk/ coffee. 8. Dinner: as per lunch. 9. Non-Veg and addictions like smoking drinking etc should be avoided. 10. Salt and weight: 1 gm of salt retains around 60ml of water in human body, hence, salt intake should be reduced substantially for good result in weight loss. 11. Diet should be strictly followed for 3 to 4 months along with the medication and adviced Panchakarma Procedures. 12. Salads of radish, carrot, beat root, onion leaf, tomato etc. should be used. plz take these primary ayurvedic medicines for better relief. 1) medohar guggulu 500 mg twice day 2) arogyavardhini vati 500 mg twice day hope this anwers your query. feel free to consult privately for further information and treatment guidelines. thank you.

Height does not increase once your epiphyseal bones r fused. Check for x ray wrist bone, ask for bone age. If fusion has already occurred, (which in most probably would have already occurred at your age), then there would b no increase in ht further. You got to be happy wd your current ht. In case fusion has not occurred, then consume a high protein diet n do regular relevant exercises. Stay healthy, stay blessed.

For weight loss. It is important to take frequent meals at regular interval of time. Empty stomach try to include 2 tsp aleovera juice+ 2 tsp amla juice in equal amount of water. In Breakfast you can museli/oats+ milk+ 1 apple /1 bowl green moong dal sprouts/1-2 besan cheela+ green chutney. In mid morning 1 cup green tea + 1 bowl fruits. Lunch 1-2 wheat bran roti+ 1bowl veg+ 1 bowl salad/1 bowl veg daliya + 1bowl curd E.T:1 cup tea+ 1bowl roasted channa/murmura Dinner: 1 bowl fruits+ 1glass skimmed milk/Grilled/roasted paneer/1-2 bowl cooked yellow moong dal+ 1bowl veg. After Dinner Take 1 cup jasmine tea.

Dear Lybrate user. 1) do yogasan regularly (pacchimottasan, halasan, sarvangasan, pavanmuktasan, bhujangasan) upto 15-30 minutes. 2) walk upto 4-5 kilometers daily. 3) do exercises like running, jogging, swimming, aerobics, cycling. A) Take 30 ml of aloe vera juice along with 30 ml of honey and 30 ml of lukewarm water, at night before sleep. B) take 10 ml of fresh lemon juice and 10 gm of jiggery before meals. C) eat 10 gm of black cumin seeds along with 30 ml of lukewarm water after meals. D) take 2-2 tablets of sutshekhar rasa and aarogyawardhini vati after meals…do all these things for 30 days…it gives you good result. Consult to me for further suggestions…. THANKS…

Causes and Symptoms of Dementia

Dementia cannot be singularly regarded as a specific disease, but rather indicates a group of symptoms associated with your memory, cognitive thinking, and social abilities, up to the point where daily functioning gets affected. In most cases, dementia steadily worsens over time (progressive dementias). Dementia is not to be confused with memory loss alone; because it is natural with old people to experience memory loss, but that does not necessarily mean they have dementia. If the reason is dementia, then you may require medical treatment.

Causes:

Dementias are generally caused either by damage to or changes in the nerve cells operating in the brain. The causes can be grouped differently based on the type of dementia experienced and the part of the brain affected. While some causes can be reversed with effective treatment, others, unfortunately, cannot.

The most common causes of dementia which cannot be reversed include:

  1. Alzheimer's disease
  2. Vascular dementia
  3. Parkinson's disease
  4. Frontotemporal dementia
  5. Dementia with Lewy (dementia which is neurodegenerative and progressive in nature) bodies
  6. Severe head injuries

Other irreversible causes which are relatively rarer than usual include:

  1. Huntington's disease (breakage of the brain's nerve cells)
  2. Creutzfeldt-jakob disease (irreversible and fatal brain disease)
  3. Multiple sclerosis or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis
  4. Infections like syphilis
  5. Leukoencephalopathies (diseases affecting the brain's'white' areas)
  6. Brain injuries
  7. Multiple system atrophy

Causes of dementia which can be treated include:

  1. Hypothyroidism
  2. Heavy metal poisoning
  3. Certain brain tumors
  4. Chronic alcoholism
  5. Hiv/aids
  6. Vitamin b12 deficiency
  7. Medicinal side effects or abnormal drug reactions
  8. Normal pressure hydrocephalus
  9. Certain cases of encephalitis

Symptoms

Symptoms of dementia include:

  1. Memory loss
  2. Difficulty finding the right words
  3. Difficulty exercising judgments, especially during emergencies
  4. Inability to recall particular events or to recognize people and places
  5. Depression or other mood disorders, in addition to symptoms like uncontrolled aggression or constant agitation.

Hello lybrate-user- weight gain depends not only on diet but also on sound sleep. Try these ayurvedic tips and medicine- a) sleep at least 8-10 hrs a day. B) eat food according to your digestion over eating sometimes causes indigestion which in turn causes weight loss. C) increase dairy products and non-veg diet in your meals. D) use shatavari kalpa 1 tsp twice daily, ashwagandha pak 1 tsp twice. Madhu malini vasanta 1 tab twice a day. You will see improvements within few weeks.

Hello, according to ayurveda weight gain not only depends upon heavy diet but also on other factors like proper digestion, sound sleep, and mental relaxation. Try these modifications for weight gain- a) avoid fast food and spicy diet. B) avoid late night sessions. C) wakeup early before 6: 30 and perform yogasana like pawan muktasana and slight running schedule. D) increase sweets and dairy products in your diet. E) try to sleep at least eight hours a day.
