I can not concentrate in my study, to get better concentration what should I do? Pls help.

Don't panic the more you work out your brain the better you process and remember information. Try to do different activities what makes you happy. Learn to play any instrument, make art, drawing, pottery. Learn dance and another language which you don't know. Try to do brain exercise. Every single activity give your brain extra challenge and want extra effort from you. This will give you a healthy brain which can do anything. And for concentration point a dot on a blank white sheet pointed it on a wall just straight to your eyes while you sit on a chair. And you can try any other concentration exercise daily.

How to loose fat around hip region and how to stop hair fall and how to improve memory?

How to loose fat around hip region and how to stop hair fall and how to improve memory?
Weight 1. Whole-grain bread. Research shows that people who follow a weight-loss program incorporating whole-grain breads, cereals, and other foods lose more body fat from the abdominal area than those who eat only refined-grain foods, like white bread and rice. 2. Low-fat milk and yogurt. Scientists have found that the more calcium in fat cells, the more fat those cells will burn. In one study, two groups of overweight mice were put on a restricted-calorie diet, but one also got calcium supplements. The no-calcium mice lost 8 percent of their body fat, compared to 42 percent among the mice that did get calcium. 3. Lean protein. Good sources of protein, such as lean meats, eggs, and beans, help keep your blood sugar stable. The result youll feel full longer and get a boost in energy and that will help you burn more belly fat.

Hi! I am 25 years old working as Junior engineer. I drunk a lot as I am having lot of stress due to family problem. Since last couple of weeks I am getting backache plus the whole body pains even my arms and leg. I ask my wife to massage it everyday and has become a routine as daily process. Now we are trying to have a baby but its been about three to four months and she cannot conceive. I smoke a lot too. My friends circle told me that it is because I drinks and smoke a lot, that's the reason. Can it really be because of it? People do have such habit but they are happy. So please guide me doctor with your valuable guidance and medical possibilities. I will be grateful to you if you get me out of this problem. Thanking you.

Hi, where are you from lybrate-user? in fact, smoking and drinking (alcohol) does not solve any issues. It may rather complicate stuff as it is damaging for your health. Apparently, myalgia, as you experience is associated with your mental stress and depression. First and foremost, I would advise you a complete cessation of drinking as well as smoking gradually over the next couple of days. Do exercise, yoga and'pranayam'/ breath control daily for self control and health. Streamline your diet and lifestyle too. Take lots of leafy greens and fruits on a daily basis and stay well hydrated. Consume fresh turmeric, lemon, garlic and ginger in culinary doses, daily. Additionally, a capsule of cod liver oil daily with food over the next 2 weeks helps too. Listen to melodious music of choice on a regular basis and take some time out for meditation daily. Also, would advise you to get a chest x-ray & liver function test done and apprise me accordingly. Hope this helps. Take care and all the very best.

Dear lybrate-user. Burning and itching skin sensation (which makes you to scratch) has been attributed to anxiety and stress, behaving apprehensively (worrying, fretting, being anxious) causes the body to activate the stress response, which brings about specific physiological, psychological, and emotional changes in the body to enhance the body’s ability to deal with a threat—to either fight with or flee from it. Due to the nature of these changes, the stress response is often referred to as the fight or flight response. Due to the extent of changes the stress response brings about, stress responses stress the body, and especially the nervous system. The nervous system is responsible for sending and receiving sensory information to and from the brain, including sending and receiving sensory information from the nerve endings in the skin. Counseling and psychotherapy will be able to help you. Take care.

Dear lybrate-user, unfortunately people are still hesitant to go to a doctor when it comes to mental health. Going to a psychiatrist is still a taboo. If this is the issue, you may tell your mother that she can take an appointment with a counsellor. A counsellor is also a mental health professional and can help people with situational difficulties. Now a days people are becoming more open about visiting a counsellor. The counsellor will be able to understand if your mother needs some assessments and if she needs intervention by a psychiatrist. Your mother may be sad and feeling helpless or hopeless. The counselling process will give her an outlet to express herself which will help her. All the best.

How can I increase my thinking capacity. To capture the knowledge for longer period.

Ph. D - Psychology, Professional Certified Coach

Concentration is a mental skill that you can develop. There are two ways to improve your concentration: first, raise your brain's natural ability to concentrate. In other words, increase your attention. Second, adjust the environment around you to make concentrating easier. To improve your concentration takes a little time and effort, but it can be worth it. In my personal experience with students. This can make noticeable improvement in a relatively short time. Ideas for daily concentration-boosting habits include: mindfulness meditation - many studies confirm that 20 minutes of meditation or more per day improves concentration and attention span. Focusing on your breathing, known as mindfulness meditation, is one of the simplest way of meditation. Start with ten minutes in the morning and ten minutes before bed. Proper sleep -i am sorry to say it. Pulling all nighter will not help with your grade. Unless you are getting sufficient restful sleep, you are not going to be as mentally focused as you could be. Brain game -. The more you use certain skills, the more they are reinforced in the brain. So it makes sense that playing concentration games and games that require you to focus will improve your concentration ability. You need to be consistent in this. Play for about 10 to 20 minutes each day. Have fun, and get the benefits but remember not to spend more than 20 minutes a day. Your goal is to improve your concentration and not the score in the game! eat healthier - your brain needs the proper nutrients to allow you to focus. Eat more vegetables and fruits and avoid consumption of junk food as much as possible. Lot of research has now proven that sugar is very harmful for our health. Reduce sugar and refined white floor in your diet as much as you could. Exercise is helpful in both reducing stress and increasing focus. At-least 20 minutes a day would go a long way. Optimize your mental state & environment in addition to building the habits described above into your daily routine, also adjust your environment and your current mental state to improve your concentration when studying. Create a study spot. Your brain loves routine. Create a place where all you do is study. An obvious choice is a secluded desk of some kind, but the trick is to make sure you only study in that spot. Studying in bed is a bad habit, for example, because your body is trained to want to sleep once you get into bed. Remove distractions. Turn off the ringer on your phone and take other steps to prevent interruptions. Don't study with the television on or with talk radio playing. Some studies have shown that soft instrumental music (no vocals) can help improve your concentration. Block background noises. If you have to study or work in an environment where it is too loud (classroom or open space) or too quiet (such as at home or at a library) you can get easily distracted by outside influences. With the right amount of background noise you can actually block out distractions and enhance your creative thinking. Use time boxes. Set a time limit when you need to study new material. For example, let's say you want to read one chapter in a book (and remember it). Decide in advance that you can have 45 minutes to read the chapter, and 15 minutes to review it. Set a timer to keep yourself honest, then pace yourself to keep within the allotted time. Stay motivated with rewards. If you see studying as burden, it's hard to concentrate. One way to stay motivated is to set up a reward system. Tell yourself you have to earn that hour of watching your favorite show later in the evening by first completing one hour of intense studying. That way, even if the material is dry, you have the reward to look forward to. Take a break every two hours. You mental energy will begin to decline after a long period of study. So every two hours or so, take a ten minute break. Walk around, eat a light snack, or just stare at the wall to relax your mind. Concentrating is the first step to learning anything new. It only makes sense that if you improve your concentration, your memory will improve also. Wishing you very best,

Hello Mady, Firstly, it is so difficult to understand problems in one go, it is easy to give solutions, but much important is the root cause of the problem. If you can find a qualified therapist then that may be a good idea for her. Some sessions will help her to bring herself back together. Therapist can help her to overcome the underlying (stressors) It is important that each stressor is addressed and dealt with appropriately. After few interventions she will be able to help herself in becoming normal again. Regards Stuti

Hello lybrate-user, in all probability these bodily sysmtoms described by you are because of some lifestyle problems. I notice your weight is little on the higher side for your age and height. Kindly get a full body check up done at a good hospital. After doing a full body check-up your doctor would advise you on next steps. Don't worry, your problem can be overcome.

Your symptoms and the situation is due to your bad relationship status with your husband, if it's true that he cheated you then it's absolutely natural for you to feel this way. For this to begin with you need to have an open interaction with your husband without blaming. If situation doesn't improve then connect a marriage and relationship coach/mentor i.e. me either online or in person preferably along with husband or alone to get guidance, understanding and support to move on towards a quality married life. All the best, decide quickly. Also Medicines are not a solution because feeling sad can't be treated with Medicines. Move on.

Hi. I' m a mother of a 1 year 5 month old daughter. She' s very cheerful and active. But one thing that is worrying all of us these days is that she' s not well attached to her dad. My husband feels very odd because of this. As and when she looks at him, she tightens her face and that shakes her face and fists. And she runs away whenever he tries to engage sometime with her. My husband is a very caring and loving father. But only that due to his work timings he doesn' t get much time to spend with her. But how can one fix this kind of issue? please help.

Dear . Your daughter is very young to understand anything more than simple caregiving and nurturing. She is more attached to those who are caring and nurturing. She soes not possess any other emotional feelings. Stranger anxiety is another prominent feature at thos age. Your husband may be loving, but that love and care should be shown to baby in such a manner where the child feels it as caring and affectionate. If required, I may provide telephone counseling to you and your husband. Take care.

He is drinking way too much for his age. There is no other way than to admit him to a rehabilitation center. He cannot be given that choice and he is not responsible at all. Your mom can easily approach his work center and speak to the HR department and get their support too: both financially and in terms of granting him at least 6 months leave to clean him up. Before that, she will need to approach the rehabilitation center about the entire process, fees, time period etc. and when they can come and pick him up. If she gives her consent, they will come one day when your father is sloshed and just pick him up and take him to the center, without any choice. If nothing is done, he is likely to end up in death, which incidentally seems to appear like his 'Rock Bottom'.
