5 Tips to Keep Your Heart Fit!

Here are a few tips to keep your heart healthy:

  1. Add fiber to your diet: Making fiber a part of your regular diet is a great idea as the heart works best when it runs on natural fuel. You can achieve this by adding more raw fruits and vegetables in your meals as they are an excellent source of fiber and nutrients.
  2. Engage in physical activity: Your heart is a muscle and to make it healthier, you need some form of physical exercise. Engaging in cardiovascular forms of exercise for an hour daily keeps your heart in good condition. Engaging in physical activity also reduces the risk of getting a heart disease and acts as a stress buster.
  3. Cut down on the salt intake: The sodium content in salt disrupts the balance of fluids in your body leading to high blood pressure. This can affect the functioning of the heart; that is to pump blood, which is a major cause of a heart attack. So, cutting down on salt can reduce stress and the risks of heart attacks.
  4. Manage your weight: People on the overweight side run a risk of getting heart diseases more often than fit and leaner ones as they tend to be more inactive and sluggish. The heart diseases caused due to obesity can be avoided by making minor changes to your diet and exercising on a daily basis.

hi. there are many causes of chest pain. heart problems, high B.P., acidity, any injury in chest/ ribs. infection in lungs, for pain take tab. dolo 650 mg sos after meal for pain. take syp. diagene 15 ml before meal or sos when acidity occurs. inhale steam if breathing problems or cough occurs. to confirm do few CHECKUP B.P., cbc. blood sugar, x-ray chest P.A. view, avoid high cholesterol foods/oily foods. junk foods. after tests consult again to physician. welcome in lybrate.

Dear lybrateuser, -do salt water gargles 3-4 times in a day -avoid drinking cold water & other cold drinks, have more of warm fluids like tea , coffee, milk -take tab paracetamol, 1 tab three times a day -avoid spicy & sour foods -do hot fomentation on chest area where it pains.

Hello, Thanks for the query. It is difficult to give any opinion as to why suddenly you have increased heart rate or may be palpitations. I need to know if you are having hyperthyroidism (which thyroid problem), high BP and any other cardiac condition. Unless some of the other details are known, no opinion can be given. My brother is 25 years old. He is suffering from a severe pain in the heart since 6 months. More than 20 times got pain. Before pain body gets sweat and mild fever which last 20 to 30 minutes. Paining around 5 to 10 minutes. He consulted a surgery specialist who is working in a hospital which is in vishakapattanam. Reasons for Chest Pain in Young Adults Cough/Cold: Children may experience benign pain in the chest after a severe bout of cold and persistent cough. Pleurisy: Pain may originate from inflammation of the lining around the lungs. The pain may become worse by deep breathing. Pleurisy is caused along with a viral syndrome. Pericarditis: If the inflammation involves the pericardium covering the heart muscle, the result could be chest pain that often exacerbates with deep breathing. First Aid for a Heart Attack ImageHypertrophic Cardiomyopathy: The condition occurs due to the increase in thickness of the septum and the left ventricular wall. The result of this rare condition could be chest pain on exertion, irregular heartbeats, and shortness of breath. Increased voltage could be reported on an EKG due to the thick heart muscle. The condition may be found in students engaging in strenuous physical activities, which may include football, basketball, or other athletic activities. Mitral Valve Prolapsed: A few young adults may experience chest pain from the prolapse of the mitral valve into the left atrium when there is contraction in the left ventricle. The condition may also cause intermittent symptoms, such as weakness, shortness of breath, palpitation, dizziness, and extreme fatigue. A 2D echocardiogram is used to diagnose the condition. Syndrome X: Chest pain in young adults may be experienced due to obesity, high blood pressure, cholesterol, and inactivity. Though tests may not confirm coronary artery disease, such people are at an increased risk of cardiovascular event and try to lose weight. The doctor may prescribe cholesterol, blood pressure medications and encouraged to exercise. Acid Reflux: The condition can lead to heartburn that often mimics chest pain. Gallstone Symptoms: In some adults, gall bladder symptoms can be felt like the signs of a coronary artery disease. Most cases of chest pain in young adults are actually a gall bladder attack. Anxiety: Some people with anxiety problem may experience chest pain symptoms. It is normal for such people to feel chest pain when they are anxious and stressed. Anxiety can only worsen the symptoms. Heart problems: Congenital heart abnormality is the primary cause of chest pain in young adults. The pain may also be caused due to blood clotting. Smoking is the most common risk factor in young people that can constrict blood vessels and promote blood clots. Some important remedies are given below for the treatment of chest pain: Arnica mont. – Chest pain with sore and bruised feeling. Ranunculus b. – Good remedy for intercostal rheumatism, sharp stitching pain in the chest along with dyspnoea. Rhus tox. – Pains extend to the shoulders, worse by initial motion and cold-damp weather, better continued motion and warmth. Kali carb. – Stitching pain in the chest, which gets worse between 2-3 A.M Actea racemosa. – Pain worse on the right side. Rumex c. – Sharp stitching pain through the left lung, often with cough. Bryonia – Chest pain is of stitching, burning and stabbing in nature, is worse by motion and better by rest and pressure. Thirst for large quantities of water and dryness of mucous membranes often accompanies. Stannum – Knife like stitches, worse on bending forward and left side. Aconite – Chest pain due to pneumonia of first stage along with anxiety and restlessness.

Doctor, I am 53 years HAVING DM sine 20 years and HTN 10 years on rx. For DM, I am taking Human mixtard Inj 70/30 20-0-30, for BP, Telsartan and metolar xr 25 morning and evening reply. Brilinta 90 mg 1-0-1, storvas 40 mgs and plagerine 75 mgs night time. For heart problem. I underwent angioplasty on Nov 02, 2015, as I had severe chest paid 3-4 days back and there was no attack. I used to masturbate from my young age ie when I was 15-16 years, by pressing penis to pillow/bed more and more frequently not knowing the consequences. I as suffering from erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation since 25 years almost I am unable to penetrate the penis into vagina, penis is used to come to normal immediately after erection, as there will be ejaculation. THERE IS NO HARDNESS IN PENIS, NO THICKNESS/LENGTH HAS ALSO COME DOWN. I TOOK HOMES/AYUR/ALLOPATHIC TREAT5EMENT WHO ARE specialized IN THSI FIELD BUT OF NO USE. dear these are all not due to mastrubation but due to a phenomena called diabetic neuropathy..u need to maintain ur sugar levels in normal range before u can get treatment for it .. erectile dysfunction is consequence of this i need to get ur latest fasting ,pp sugar ,and hba1c levels reports first to decide for the treatment

●Eat regular meals throughout the day at same time everyday..Avoid skipping meals ●Include high fibre foods at each meal e.g. legumes(beans/lentils ),nuts(almonds,walnut),eggs etc ●Take fruit as a healthy snack e.g. apples,pears,papaya,mausami,jamun,guava ●Try to avoid –grapes,mango,bananas,jackfruit(cheeku) ●Vegetables to be included in plenty-at least 2 servings per meal ●Reduce the fat intake,fried foods,cakes,pastries and foods containing palm oil and coconut oil  ●Include healthy foods like daliya,oats ●Reduce salt intake in the diet to 1 tsp or less per day ●stay away from especially labelled diabetic foods(they are of no benefit),and saturated fats  ●Limit intake of sugar and sugary foods like sweets ●If so desire can take sugarfree as sugar substitute for sweetening purposes DIABETIC DIET CHART: Morning: 4-5 Almonds soaked overnight in water or 1-2 walnuts 6:30 a.m.: Tea + 2 mariegold biscuits(only for those who can’t skip their morning tea) 8:00-9:00 a.m. : 2 Roti + subzi + daliya /upma/poha/raw cheese/sprouts + 1 glass skimmed milk 11:00-12:00 a.m.: Fruits (only those permitted), salads, guava, papaya, pomegranate, cucumber, carrot, sprouts etc 1:00-2:00 p.m.: 2 roti +dal + salads+curd/raita/buttermilk 4:00-5:00 p.m : tea + roasted chana/bhelpuri(only if hungry) 7:00 p.m : salads/coconut water/lemon water(without sugar) 8:00-9:00 p.m: 2 roti +dal/khicdi + skimmed milk Try to sleep daily on sametime till 11:00 p.m. SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS:  Avoid potato/sweet potato/arbi banana/cheeku/grapes/mango/litchi papads/ chatni/pickles/fried foods groundnuts/cashew/pista/raisins sweets/honey/cold drinks/jaggery Note: For preparing chapatis, use whole wheat flour mixed with chana flour or besan in 3:1 proportion alongwith small amounts of soyabean

I work as an Accountant, overnight I can't sleep properly & feel Tired at Day. Some task or things of my work runs in my mind at night, and I have to wake up daily for bowl movement at 6 am in the morning, Further I Get Small -Small Dry Cough (Khansi) when I eat Something or when I talk, I do not Feel Any Chest Pain Or Burn, this Problem is from 1 Year. 1. You may be having anxiety or stress. Avoid stress. 2. You need 7-8 hours of sound sleep to remain healthy. 3. Go for regular exercise, Take part in games and sports, 4. Do yoga, meditation and deep breathing exercise like pranayama to calm your mind, control your emotion, relieve anxiety and improve concentration. 5. Adhere to a specific sleep time and regular schedule 6. Take light dinner. 7. Avoid taking tea/coffee at bed time. Have a glass of warm milk at bed time. 8. Don’t go to sleep immediately after dinner. Take a small walk after dinner and if possible take hot water bath before sleep. Read a light magazine or interesting book before going to bed 9. Avoid late night. 10. Don’t sleep in day time 11. Don’t take sleeping pill 12. If no relief consult doctor.

1. Drink plenty of water/ nimbu pani/electral powder with water 2. Increase salt intake 3. Take plenty of fresh green leafy vegetables, fruits. Fish, chicken etc 4. Avoid alcohol 5, go for regular exercise 6. Drink tea/ coffee 7. Avoid prolonged standing 8. Avoid stress, anxiety, depression 9. Take. Adequate rest and have 7-8 hours of sound sleep in the night 10. Do yoga, meditation and deep breathing exercise to calm your mind, control your emotion and relieve stress 11. Check your hemoglobin, monitor bp and consult physician for advice and treatment.

parkinsonism mainly manifest as slowness due to increased muscle tone..patient has slowness in walking slowness in eating..he or she has generalised bodyaches, heaviness in body. facial expressions decreases so much dat face appears as mask....most important feature is tremulousness of the limbs tremors will first appear in one limb then progress to involve other limbs...slowly slowly body become rigid and patient has difficulty in walking..and later on patient can become bed bound...

Hello dear High triglycerides and cholesterol can cause atherosclerotic heart disease or narrowed coronary arteries in the heart can cause the symptoms of angina, when theheart muscle is not provided with enough oxygen to function. Decreased blood supply to the brain may be due to narrowed small arteries in the brain or because the larger carotidarteries in the neck may become blocked. This can result in a transient ischmic attack or stroke. Peripheral artery disease describes gradual narrowing of the arteries that supply the legs. During exercise , if the legs do not get enough blood supply, they can develop pain , called claudication . Other arteries in the body may also be affected by plaque buildup causing them to narrow, including the mesenteric arteries to the intestine and the renal arteries to the kidney. Change life style .do meditation,yoga, Go walk daily, do any one physically activity daily i.e.play any game., Avoid fast foods,oily foods,junk foods,alcohol,smoking,fatty foods, non-veg.,avoid stress,take plenty of water in day time. And 1 glass of water before bed at night. use flax oil, omega-3 fatty meal or cap., take .green veg., whole grain. Garlic,. Cod liver oil. Take anti cholesterol medicines .

What is the normal pulse rate for a diabetic patient with BP my pulse rate is 95 per second.
If on medication for bp, the pulse is lower. 95 at resting? is on higher side. Do get bp checked and controlled again with medicines. Yoga & meditation also reduce the pulse, so does walking and other exercises according to constitution.
