Causes And Treatment Of Heel Pain!

Causes And Treatment Of Heel Pain!

Heel pain is a common problem in the body where the affected person experiences pain radiating from the heel bone. Heel pain usually progresses slowly over time, it is recommended to consult a medical professional, if heel pain turns severe. The pain tends to most severe after one has been inactive for some time such as after waking up in the morning.

Causes
Heel pain is usually caused when tissues present in the bottom of the heel (Plantar fascia) is damaged. These tissues connect the heel bone with the bones of the feet and help in absorbing shocks. Tears are formed in these tissues when they are damaged or when they get thicker. These tissues are at an increased risk of wear and tear for those who are over 45 years old. The risks also tend to increase if the person is obese or whose occupation requires standing for lengthy periods of time.
Among other causes of heel pain are heel bone fractures, fat pad atrophy (a condition where a layer of fat present under the heel bone is reduced) and bursitis (inflammation of the fluid-filled sacs present around the joints). Peripheral neuropathy is a condition where damage occurs in the peripheral nerves (that transmits signals between the central nervous system and the rest of the body), this can cause pain in the heel.

Symptoms
The symptoms of heel pain include:

  1. Experiencing pain while jogging or walking
  2. A feeling of pins pricking the heels after waking up in the morning
  3. Inability to bend the heel
  4. Painful swelling
  5. Pain in the heel accompanied by fever

Prevention and treatment
Heel pain can be prevented by taking certain preventive measures such as restricting usage of high heeled shoes without proper support and stretching the heel regularly. Medications such as painkillers are used to treat symptoms of heel pain. If you wish to discuss any specific problem, you can consult a physiotherapist.

I unable to grow full beard even after 4 years of beard grown up as I am 21 years of age now. So I want some suggestions to grow facial hair as I have mustache and thick beard over chin ans there is no issue with my Genes.

BHMS
Homeopath, Chennai
There are a number of reasons that can affect the growth of facial hair, one of these are; low testosterone levels which is usually and directly responsible for low growth of facial hair. It is also seen that certain races or people in certain part of the world generally have less facial hair growth. Other reasons like delayed puberty, stress and hormonal imbalances could also have a significant impact on facial hair growth. Homoeopathic constitutional treatment has shown remarkable results in facial hair growth with minimum doses of medicines, you can easily take an online consultation for further treatment guidance

What is the procedure for hair transplant? How much does it cost? How long the transplant will stay? Is there any side effects of the same. Any specialized doctor in Mumbai?

Advanced Aesthetics, M.Ch - Plastic Surgery, MS - General Surgery, MBBS
Cosmetic/Plastic Surgeon, Indore
Hair transplant is one of the most frequently performed surgeries and we are the pioneers in central India since last 30 years. They are your own hair and the results are permanent with no side effects like rejection. We have to assess the Hair pattern. Some people respond to medical treatment but a fair number need surgery. The surgery is almost painless because there are enough medications to keep the pain under control We need to examine the patient to know what is wanted and what can be done and to work out how much, when, where, etc

I have a big problem with my beard over my face actually I got natural beard 4 years ago as I am 21 years old now and since then it only grown over my Chin area which is quite thick. But there are no Facial hair over my chicks and I also shaved a month from last 4 years. So, I request you to suggest me natural ways to grow full beard with no use of medicine or treatment.

MBBS, MD - Dermatology , Venereology & Leprosy
Dermatologist, Mumbai
Some men do not get proper beard growth on the face. The most common cause is genetic that is it may run in your family. Testosterone levels should also be evaluated for the same. Even if the levels of testosterone is normal, you hair may not be having receptors necessary for growth of beard on the face. There are no creams, oils or tablets to induce beard growth. Logically speaking if there are no hair roots, how do you think putting oil or creams or changing diet will suddenly start growing hairs in areas where there are no hair roots. The only treatment which works is hair transplant. In this treatment we take hair from the back of your head and implant it on your beard area. The hair will start growing after 3 to 4 months which will be permanent. You can contact me for previous case photos and cost of surgery.

I want to grow up my eyelashes and make it thicker what can I do. Any idea which will effect fast please help me.

BHMS
Homeopath, Secunderabad
Nothing much can be done for the growth of the eye lashes because it's a genetic feature. Each person is born with a a particular characteristic which is inherited from the parents. One can take good care of health which in turn would support the growth and repair of the eyelashes. Eat healthy food and exercise everyday. Take fruits and vegetables everyday. A well nourished body will reflect in ever aspect of the physical expression.

Hi doctors, am getting pain in my shoulders and neck. Am sleeping in bed where its not equally balanced. Please let me know can I sleep without bed in iron cot with plastic charpoy. Kindly advice.

BHMS
Homeopath, Secunderabad
Just changing the bedding may not work. What might be the cause for the neck and shoulder pain? If you are leading a sedentary life with no exercise at all then you should change the habit. A healthy lifestyle is very important to be healthy and fit. Start mild exercise for the neck and shoulders. Go for a brisk walk for 30 minutes everyday. Learn yoga. Do not sit more than 30 mins on a chair. Keep moving your body parts / Stretch your body frequently. Maintain ideal weight. Eat healthy food so that you do not gain weight. Have more of fruits and vegetables everyday. Get yourself medical check up once a year by a doctor.

Hello doctor my age is 30 and I'm getting grey hair these days may I know the reason for this and please suggest any medication to cure this.

MBBS, Diploma in Venerology & Dermatology (DVD)
Dermatologist, Delhi
Most people have white hairs by 35 years of age. But in some it can start very early as in your case. This condition is called premature greying or premature canities. Certain medical conditions like thyroid problems, stress, vitamin B12 deficiency etc can cause greying of hair. So get yourself checked if you suffer from any of these conditions. Also do not take too much stress, have a good 8 hour sleep, eat plenty of fruits and vegetables so that vitamin deficiencies can get corrected.

Always pain in back from shoulder to waist, when I wake up in morning it pains very badly.

MSc in Orhopedic Physiotherapy (UK), BPTh/BPT
Physiotherapist, Bangalore
The most common form of Back pain is due to muscle imbalances and poor conditioning of the muscles themselves. Here are some tips for how to handle your back pain: -While sleeping, try lying in a curled-up, fetal position with a pillow between your legs. If you usually sleep on your back, place a pillow or rolled towel under your knees to relieve pressure. -Find a mattress with back support. A good mattress should provide support for the natural curves and alignment of the spine. Medium-firm mattresses usually provide more back pain relief than firm mattresses. -Do not perform activities that involve heavy lifting or twisting of your back -Avoid bending forward and sitting in a place for long time -Stretching and strengthening exercises are important. -A physiotherapist can tell you when to begin stretching and strengthening exercises and learn how to safely, easily, stretch and strengthen the weak and tight areas of your lower back and hips which cause pain while sleeping. Best wishes.
