Gain weight, if you are underweight. Ask your doctor about prescription estrogen-replacement drugs, usually called hormone replacement therapy, or hrt. Eat soy products. Get a prescription for birth control pills or the birth control patch, both of which can provide estrogen to the body and regulate hormones.

I, aged 66 years, diabetic and also postural hypertension feeling giddiness most of the time, although, on medicines prescribed by a recognised military hospital.Feeling fast loosing energy, tiredness all the time, panting, already angiography done a year ago with 40% blockage, little over weight.Cant I be treated permanently for diabetes?

In the treatment of diabetes there no concept of temporary or permanent. You shall have to monitor and continue treatment. Angio report is not at all bad. Brisk walking and medical supervision can take care of it. Better loose those extra Kgs by walking briskly daily. Exercise shall increase your energy and fitness level. Take some fresh fruit regularly, which are not very sweet. Can take a apple a day. It contain high fibre. Only liquid fibre containing fruit so far I know. Papya is good. Nuts are good for you - contains lots of antioxidants. Increase your protein intake either from animal or vegetable source depending on your dietary habit. Sleep tight for at least 8 hours at night. For your Postural Hypotension, Only follow these. Your above practice shall bring down the problem though. 1) Don't start walking after rising from horizontal position. Sit for a minute if no black out start walking. 2) Don't stand in a place for long time or take care while rise from squatting position suddenly. 3) If any time you have a black-out bend forward or sit and bend down your head at or at lower level to heart. And wait till black-out is cleared. It shall take a few seconds. I shall appreciate your feedback.

Olive Oil - Which One Are You Using?

Today, olive oil is known as one of the healthiest oils for cooking food because of its low level of saturated fats. Olive oil is also said to be able to aid in weight loss, reduce cholesterol, lower the risk of cardiovascular diseases, slow down the ageing process and protect against certain types of cancer. However, not all types of olive oil are the same. Olive oil is extracted by crushing olives and is categorised on the basis of the type of pressing, acidity levels and extent of processing undergone.

Some of the common types of olive oil available are:

  1. Extra virgin olive oil: This refers to oil produced by the first ‘pressing’ of olives. This oil is extracted using only mechanical or other physical means and does not involve the use of heat or chemicals. The only processing is subjected to is washing, decanting, centrifuging and filtering. The maximum acidity level of this oil is 0.8%. Extra virgin olive oil has no added flavours or aroma and is said to have a superior taste.
  2. Virgin olive oil: This is the second grade of olive oil. It has slightly higher level of acidity than extra virgin olive oil. It may seem to have a slight flavour imperfection as compared to the earlier oil. This is most commonly used type of olive oil.
  3. Refined olive oil: Oil that is produced by subsequent pressings of the remaining olive flesh is known as refined olive oil. It has a lighter colour and is less viscous as compared to virgin olive oil. Unlike virgin olive oil, refined olive oil is bleached and deodorised. It may also be mixed with a little virgin olive oil. This type of oil has the same levels of monosaturated fat, but has very little antioxidants.
  4. Olive pomace oil: The crushed flesh and pits left over from the extraction of olive oil is known as pomace. This may further be used to extract oil known as pomace oil. Pomace oil is an inferior oil that may be mixed with olive oil to improve its taste and texture.
  5. Unfiltered olive oil: As the name suggests, the unfiltered olive oil contains bits of olive flesh. While this may enhance the flavour of the oil, it also causes a sediment to be formed at the bottom of the bottle. This sediment may become rancid over time and lower the shelf life of the oil. Unfiltered olive oil should ideally be used within 6 months of being bottled.

Apart from the above, there are a number of other types of olive oil such as early or late harvest olive oil, hand picked olive oil, single estate olive oil and flavoured oil. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a doctor.

You should get yourself checked up by physician to find out reason for high esr. It might be due to some infection. Treatment will depend upon type of infection.

Don't try to reduce your weight, in fact during pregnancy you need to gain at least 12 kgs of weight, so is there any vaginal infection because of which this pain may arise and this will be common if because of any infection.

I have a bronchitis. Last year I suffered from tuberculosis. But the treatment is over and I feel ok. But currently I have bronchitis, excessive urine problem, excessive hair fall and depression. So I want to ask that can I do yoga for weight loss am I eligible for it or not? Or yoga will cause harm in future? Currently, I am doing baba ramdev's yoga for obesity. Please help.

Don't have any sodas, ice creams n fried food and cut down the salt in your diet. If your having excessive urine problem then its an indication on diabetes so check your sugar levels. Start taking 1 tsp of flaxeed per day.
