Vertigo (dizziness) is a sensation of movement of the self or the surroundings when there is no actual movement. It can be perceived as a spinning or wheeling sensation, lightheadedness, imbalance or unsteadiness. These sensations are accompanied by nausea, vomiting or any difficulty with balance. The symptoms are problematic, particularly during tasks such as operating heavy machinery, driving and flying. Causes of vertigo can be due to recent head trauma, conditions such as migraine, diabetes, heart or lung disease or usage of some medicines. Please consult with an ent specialist who can provide an accurate diagnosis and proper treatment for your condition.
