Dandruff can be treated with lotion and shampoo (not the commercial ones which you use). Some people have more oiliness on the scalp which then causes visible flakes that people called dandruff. There are also some conditions which present with flaking of the scalp and have to be treated properly. Do not apply oil on the scalp as it will worsen the condition. Hi! Dandruff is something which is not just external but is linked to your diet, hormones etc. Usually, from the age of puberty to adulthood, oil glands will be very active and can cause repeated inflammation. So, dandruff can be controlled in this age group and not cured completely. Use ketoconozole containing shampoo like head and shoulders, scalpe etc to control dandruff. Reduce oily foods, non vegetarian foods, sweets and chocolates ,dairy foods to control dandruff.

Moreover, dandruff is something which is not just external but is linked to your diet, hormones etc. Usually, from the age of puberty to adulthood, oil glands will be very active and can cause repeated inflammation. So, dandruff can be controlled in this age group and not cured completely. Use ketoconozole containing shampoo like head and shoulders, scalpe etc to control dandruff. Reduce oily foods, non vegetarian foods, sweets and chocolates ,dairy foods to control dandruff. Sometimes, psoriasis may overlap with dandruff. Hello Lybrate-user! hair loss can be due to various reasons, genetic, hormonal, nutritional, dandruff, stress ,pollution etc. We have to examine the scalp to know the reason for hair loss. If dandruff is present, it should be checked and be controlled in this age group. Blood tests like cbpesr ,tsh, lft, rbs, s.ferritin levels, s.b12 levels, s.vitamin d levels, s.testosterone levels need to be checked to know the reason and to focus on the internal factors. Mean while ,take balanced diet with proteins, fresh fruits and vegetables, plenty of fluids for hydration, omega 3 rich foods like walnuts, flax seeds etc, iron rich foods like green leafy vegetables, liver, jaggery. Use a ph balanced shampoo. Don't use too much of home remedies. Please do consult your dermatologist for further evaluation and management. Finasteride has to be used only in androgenetic alopecia (after it confirmed clinically by a dermatologist ). Moreover this medication has no effect on masturbation. Coming to the finasteride ,please don't self medicate without doctor's supervision regarding dandruff, we have to examine the scalp to know the reason for hair loss. Monteleukast has been seen to act paradoxical to what is expected in some, no need to worry just take any anti allergic that does not contain monteleukast in combination.
