Dear lybrate-user, disclaimer: I can advice only about allopathy. Ocd needs long term treatment. Sacrilege ocd needs immediate treatment. You have found improvement with fluoxamine and clomipramine. Please maintain them for at least 2 years. Dose will be altered with doctor's periodic consultations. Along with it, you can take cbt (cognitive behaviour therapy) and erp (exposure and response prevention). This therapy may take 18-20 sessions. It also needs to be maintained with booster sessions for a long term. At this critical age of yours, to settle in education and job, you need both tablets and therapy. There is nothing as complete cure in ocd. But you will have a good quality of life with the treatment. No one will know that you are on treatment. I am not qualified to comment on homeopathy or ayurveda.

Sexual ocd is very common and highly distressing. It happens to due altered serottonergic systems in certain parts of the mind (brain). You need long term treatment with ssris understand the disorder and take proper treatment so that the thoughts reduce or remit and the associated distress is also addressed. Without knowing about the illness and expecting a magical cure is impossible or highly unlikely. So better consult a psychiatrist and take regular treatment. Madam tablet contains citalopram as an active ingredient which is usually used for depression. It's not ayurvedic. Saphala is ayurvedic. My opinion is that for the purpose you mentioned, more effective regimen of ayurveda is required to be given which should initiate aartav shuddhi, regularity of cycles and stabilizing the foetus. Saphala is good but I think better treatment is required. Citalopram is for anxiety, depression, ocd, panic disorders etc and has side effects. I would not recommend to my such pts. Hi lybrate-user, I have never heard anyone having started with ocd and depression after consuming brahmi and ashwagandha. Rather the opposite! some of my clients shared that they take it along with my counselling sessions and it helped because these herbs are known to help in some mental health issues. Though excessive of anything is bad and we won't know if you consumed them excessively. Coming to the point of symptoms of depression and ocd, I would suggest not self - diagnosing rather consulting a professional to know if, these issues are actually existing in you. If the answer will be yes, I would suggest taking a proper treatment. Depending on the severity of symptoms you might need only counselling or a combination of counselling and medication. If you have habit of watching porn or doing excessive maturation just stop doing that. Because doing them might give you lack of self confidence.
