Hello Ms. lybrate-user. I understand your concern very well. As you are not planning to conceive anywhere in the near future you can take isotretinoin for your acne. It's always best to follow up with a dermatologist and monitor your progress. Usually, topical retinoic acid preparations are preferred in mild to moderate acne but as you have not mentioned the stage of your condition I will assume you have moderate acne and were prescribed oral isotretinoin. Please make sure that you start with the lowest dose possible and move up the dose accordingly. Also, if you plan to take it for a longer duration >4 week please get your lft and lipid profile done as well. As you are in this age group where people tend to have skin problems due to the influence of hormones you need not be worried. According to literature, it is advised people taking isotretinoin should not donate blood. (just for your kind knowledge) I hope you will do great in the future. Best wishes.
