Tretinoin use by pregnant women has not been extensively or adequately studied. Given its lack of a proven track record for safety in pregnant women, advised not to use. The fda has designated hydroquinone a pregnancy category c substance, meaning that reproductive studies done on animals have shown to have adverse side effects on the fetus, but that there is a lack of well controlled studies in the human population.

Melalite xl is hydroquinone, mometasone and tretinoin triple combination cream. When used unsupervised, for longer periods, it may lead to exogenous oochronosis (resistant pigmentation due to hydroquinone) which is quite difficult to treat, and also it can cause side effects due to steroid component like acne, skin thinning/atrophy, erythema, steroid dependence, etc. Tretinoin component can lead to dryness of skin. I would advise you to stop using it, and inculcate these 3 things in your daily routine: 1. A gentle, sulfate free facewash/ cleanser twice daily. Once your skin condition is better, you may use aha/bha containing facewash which will help with pigmentation as well. 2. A non comedogenic moisturiser twice daily after facewash. 3. A sunscreen gel: spf 30+, non comedogenic, 30 mins before stepping out, reapply every 2-3 hrly. Use even when indoors since your skin has tendency for pigmentation and even mobile/laptop screens have been proven to emit uv rays which can increase your pigmentation. Any product/ night cream for pigmentation can only be advised after looking at the kind of pigmentation. Consult a dermatologist online or offline. Please avoid self medication. Sometimes people get side effects which are permanent by using over the counter freely available topical creams. Invest in your face, opt for this simple routine, I am sure it will help.

Elosone ht cream contains hydroquinone, tretinoin and mometasone. It is used for treating pigmentation like melasma. Short term use (1 week or less) does not have major side effects. You can stop the use and apply sunscreen with spf of 30 or higher daily. Use a gentle cleanser to wash your face because you donât want harsh soap to damage your skin (already sensitive due to cream application). Keep your face adequately moisturised with a hypoallergenic and noncomedogenic moisturiser like excela rich moisturiser. If you are suffering from pigmentation you can opt for safer alternatives. Hello lybrate-user, dark spots occur due to different reasons. Hydroquinone based and steroid containing creams are usually prescribed under supervision and for a limited period of time. I wil advise you to stop applying hydroquinone cream as it can cause side effects. I guess melaglow prime is steroid free cream. So may continue with it. But please do consult a dermatologist for proper course of management for your skin condition as continuous, unsupervised use of any skin products may do harm in long run.

Hi Lybrate-user! most of the times, pigmentation will respond to azaelic acid /kojic acid /hydroquinone creams. But be sure to start the cream at night along with sunscreen application in the morning. Your skin seems to sensitive ,better you use mild cleanser to prevent from dryness and redness.
