Polycystic ovary syndrome (pcos) is a condition that affects a woman’s hormone levels. Women with pcos produce higher-than-normal amounts of male hormones. This hormone imbalance causes them to skip menstrual periods and makes it harder for them to get pregnant. Pcos also causes hair growth on the face and body, and baldness. And it can contribute to long-term health problems like diabetes and heart disease. Birth control pills and diabetes drugs may help fix the hormone imbalance and improve symptoms. There's no test to definitively diagnose pcos so far, we need to discuss your medical history, including your menstrual periods and weight changes. A physical exam will include checking for signs of excess hair growth, insulin resistance and acne. Post studying your case i'll be able to come to the conclusion whether to go for pelvic examination, blood tests and ultrasounds.

In oct 2016 I had menstrual bleeding for one month so I visited gynaecologist in nearby hospital and she recommended ultrasound of my lower abdomen and in my reports my overy size was found abnormal and my report indicated that I could have pcos and then she gave me oral pills and told me the food items I should avoid .following months after that I start having regular cycles and 6 months later after that I started following my normal eating lifestyle and stopped taking her other medicine. After that I did not have "extended bleeding days" for 3 years but I have 2-3 irregular cycles in a year where gap between my two menstruation was 2 months. But I ignored it. Now in dec 2018 again I have continuous bleeding for 15 days again I visited doc, ultrasound happened but my reports came normal this time she gave oral pills. I used oral pills for 1 month. But my periods are still irregular. Infact I have last period on 7 sep and today is now 20 oct and I did not have my periods till now. What should I do so that I start having regular undelayed periods?

Regular or excessive consumption of pill have a slightly greater risk of rare serious problems like blood clots, heart attacks, liver tumors, and strokes. It is imperative that when on the pill, you have a good diet and some form of exercise. It is recommended that you do not go on the pill if your family has a history of diabetes, blood clots, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. Menorrhagia is the medical term for menstrual periods with abnormally heavy or prolonged bleeding. Although heavy menstrual bleeding is a common concern, most women don't experience blood loss severe enough to be defined as menorrhagia. You may require a physical examination and few test like pap test, endometrial biopsy, ultrasounds, blood test etc. To diagnose your menstrual disorders.
