Thank you for the query. There are no medications for fatty liver in particular. However, there are certain precautions which you can take to prevent further progression. 1. If you are overweight/obese, weight loss and exercise have some definite benefit in the management of fatty liver. Dietary restrictions of saturated fat and refined carbohydrates is needed. One must also avoid carbonated beverages. 2. Diabetes is an important cause for the development of non alcoholic fatty liver, and hence screening for blood sugar is needed (Fasting and post prandial sugar level). 3. Alcohol consumption must be avoided as it is another important cause for development of fatty liver. 4. Lipid profile must be assessed. Raised triglyceride levels may be associated with fatty liver. There are certain medications which have been tried for fatty liver like metformin and anti-oxidants, but without any proven benefits. Fatty liver in early stages can be reversed with dietary restrictions and exercise. Control of underlying diabetes and lipid profile impairment may be needed. A liver function test may be done to check for impairment. You may visit a physician for further advise. Regards
