The slight redline u see is probably a blood vessel which occurs normal. If u develop eye infection or inflammation they become dilated, prominent and a larger number of them become visible and the eye appears red. There r many causes for a red eye. Also a routine eye examination at least at age of 3. 5, 13, 18, 40 years should be mandatory. In between if everything is normal a repeat evaluation every 2-3 years is recommended. .
