The presence of white blood cells (pus cells) in semen without the growth of pathogenic bacteria on a semen culture sensitivity test may indicate non-infectious causes of inflammation or an immune response. Here are a few possible explanations for the presence of pus cells in semen: prostatitis or inflammation of the prostate gland: prostatitis can cause an increase in white blood cells in the semen. It can be caused by non-infectious factors such as autoimmune conditions, pelvic trauma, or urinary reflux. Chronic prostatitis, in particular, can result in long-term inflammation and the presence of pus cells in semen. Epididymitis or inflammation of the epididymis: the epididymis is a tube that stores and transports sperm. Inflammation of the epididymis, known as epididymitis, can lead to an increase in white blood cells in semen. It can be caused by non-infectious factors such as trauma or autoimmune conditions.
