Let the child complete his 6 months 1 continue demand breast feeding 2 home made cereals like dal dalia khichri mashed banana 3 soup and fruit juice can be given as supplement to cereal not substitute as the former is weak in calories 4 give them small amounts frequently 5 do not worry if child is reluctant or vomits out. 6 patience and persuasion shall work gradually 7 I personally avoid commercial food for weaning. 8 once you start supplementary feeding give the child option to take boiled and cooled water too 9 top milk in weaning period is not necessary 10 your child shall thrive well on mothers milk and freshly home made cereals.

Feed offered three hrly six times between six am to elevan pm. Four times breast feeds for 15-20 min. No other milk. Two to three feeds of cereals and milk /curd. Homely feeds freshly prepared each time are recommended.
