I had a stomach ulcer when I went to a gastroenterology clinic for check up. I underwent upper endoscopy and the doctor diagnosed me of h pylori ulcer. However, when biopsies were taken from the intestine, they mentioned that I have cmv (cytomegalovirus) in my intestine. They want me to see the" infectious disease" doctor immediately. They also made me take the hiv test for which the result was negative. Please suggest if there is a cause for concern and if I really have to go to the infectious disease doctor. Your inputs are much appreciated. Thank you.
