Hello. I have a ruptured ear drum. I was playing soccer and got hit by the ball on ear. Now it feels like air is coming out or one of my ear. I think the ear drum got torn up. What should I do. Do I have to use hearing machines now? Reply asap. Thank you.

Hello lybrate-user firstly do not panic there are certain precautions you need to take, if the ear drum was ruptured secondary to hit by a ball. Keep the ear dry so that no water enters inturn hole can heal. Avoid ear drops. Get an hearing test done and share can help you further. If hearing aid needed or not can be told after looking into audiogram. Usually ear drum hole due to trauma heals in 3-4 weeks if does not heal will require to get operated. Most of the times it will heal by taking above mentioned precautions. Take care.
