It depends upon the amount of water you drink. Normally if you drink good amount of water say about 2 to 3 liters in 24 hours, it is colorless or light amber yellow which is normal. If you don't drink enough water then even normal urine can get a dark yellow tinge. Not all yellow urine are of jaundice.

Urine gets its yellow color from a pigment called urochrome. That color normally varies from pale yellow to deep amber, depending on the concentration of the urine. Darker urine is usually a sign that you're not drinking enough fluid.
