I want to whiten my teeth. I used baking soda once or twice after brushing but I read somewhere that it can adversely affect in long run. What is the right treatment for whitening?

Baking soda is very course and using it too many times will remove your enamel surface, this may lead to sensitivity. Its best to get teeth whitened professionally by dentist.

Go for scaling and polishing. It will remove the yellowness from teeth. For more brightness, you can go for bleaching.
